MGW probably deserved the nod but he never would have gotten near the starting lineup. The young lad from Palace is in a position where we have less players with the likes of Hendo and Philips needing replacing whereas madders doesn't even start.

Seems like we have a truly golden generation but a lack of expectation to get over the line. I'll be honest I don't know much about the other nations atm. Obviously France are strong but the bookies have us as favorites.

Not sure MGW has done enough to get ahead of those in his position, 10s are palmer, Bellingham foden etc

Completely agree mate this was based on the preliminary squad and particularly Madison who hadn't been selected now anyway. He wouldn't have gotten near the side like Madison in previous years.

Im torn with Grealish. I can't help but think Peps micro management turns him into one of these compact robots whereas Carlo Ancelotti let's players play. I think we've missed the best possible Grealish because of pep.

Either way he's a big match player and even with fitness it's a big call.

He's never really done much for England. Plus he was never getting near the pitch anyway, Saka, Foden, Palmer and Bellingham will dominate the majority of game time in his position. Then Gordon and Bowen are clearly offering more than him right now IMO as backups/high energy subs with a bit of pace.

We've spent years begging Southgate to pick players on form and now he finally does, need to praise him for it!

You make a good point with the back up from players. Even disregarding the PL season Gordon had tournament success last summer and Bowen scored the winner in a European final.

Yeah very true, Gordon was excellent in the U21 tournament last year, really ignited his career. I mean hopefully these guys aren't playing much as Saka/Foden are playing most of the time but it's good to have backups and Saka looked pretty burnt out towards the end of the year.

I'm sorry, but I am still fully f****d off from last season, which has seriously knocked my love for the game to the extent that I can't be bothered with the Euro's at the present time. 

I hope i can overcome this, as I used to love watching the tournaments.

A bit the opposite for me Tricks. Looking forward to watching some quality footy without too much stress. Want England to win, should they lose, even if robbed I would simply shrug my shoulders. Nothing like when Forest lose and I’m in a bad mood for hours and can’t bear to look at the league table or watch the other games!

However, adding in Bellingham changes things a fair bit.

I really liked that kid from Palace -Wharton. Moves the ball quickly no fannying about with pointless touches on the ball.

Wharton reminds me of Roy Keane when he first played in midfield for us after his stint on the wing. Always forward - always quick and simple - can tackle and cover - just what we need rather than overhyped top 6 team primadonnas

I'm afraid he'll likely be one of them soon enough. Be cool if Palace could keep that team together for one season though.
