The Premier League 2023/24
D&B because it's f****d!

If we hadn’t made such hard work of the season on the pitch we wouldn’t have much to moan about the PL other than VAR/dodgy referees. 10 more points on the board and we would have taken the points deduction on the chin, annoying but the result of us breaching was staying up, the rules are changing season after next.
Yep there are tourists in some seats, I cant get an away ticket to save my life and Im sure at some point they will come up with a 9.00am kick off to suit the asian market. However there’s no denying its the place to be.

I have enjoyed the place being full and most where I sit have been there for years. Kids there are now growing up and the banter is great. The last three seasons have been the most exiting for decades and the quality of the opposition has increased ten fold. The Fulham game and West Ham game this season are stand outs so far and we gave Liverpool and Arsenal a run for their money at home this year and beat them last year. It has been brilliant but the lows have been hard. Not beating Bournemouth has really done my head in for example.
Compared to the championship it is night and day. The physicality and speed is so much higher and being close to the pitch you really do see it. I really do think that if we scrape staying up we will have a chance to become established and kick on. We have a young squad with some excellent players who are a year older and have a bit more nous - with a really strong core and a chance to add a few bits of quality. I hope we do it.

I do.

The Championship is dogshit and for second class clubs.

Plus 1. Why wouldn't we want to be part of which is commonly acknowledged as being the best league in the world.

It's not perect but then again what is?

Now we have had a sniff of the PL I couldn't stomach dropping back into the Championship again.

There is 20m there for starters

Reyna too,
Yep
Also Mangala
That’s another 5m +

Don’t forget Felipe!
And Santos has gone back.

I think there are also several who have already left this season that would have been included in the last financial year’s accounts to June 2023.
Aurier
Horvath
Shelvey
(Plus effectively Mbe Soh)

Not sure about bowler and Panzo, but can’t see them still being here for next season along with Worrall, Obrien, Hwang or Dennis.

I think the jury will be out on niakhate, toff, yates (new agent) Murillo (new agent) etc
This season’s accounts to June 2024 are probably going to be an issue again even with the increased PSR allowance, but from the 24/25 season forward we’ve only ourselves to blame if we haven’t got our house in order by then.

Either way, it’s still quite a cull.

Forest have 40 players on senior contracts including loans in and loans out.
13 contracts end in 2024 including loan players
1 has already been sold - Mangala
That will leave a squad of 26.
Gonna have to sell before anyone new comes in.

Turner
Ody £3.5m
Sels

Murillo
Niakhate
Omobamidele
Worrall £4m
Panzo £1.5m

Toffolo
Richards
Williams
Aina

Sangare 20m
Danillo
Dominguez
Yates
Obrien £5m

Gibbs White
Aguilera
Hudson Odoi
Elanga
Dennis £5m
Mighten £0.5m

Awoniyi
Wood
Hwang £0.5m

Here’s a suggestion how to reduce the payroll costs by a further £15m without affecting the first team and bring in £40m of sales.

I’m with Sniff; it’s PL or bust for me.

Went on a stag do last weekend. Everyone’s laughing at us. Laughing at us for signing 100 players a season, laughing at us for trying to defend breaking the rules, laughing at us for doing all of the above and still potentially getting relegated.

Like it or not, the way this club is run has made us a laughing stock in some quarters

Christ not this again.

Thought you had been quiet for a while.

I’m not criticising, it was just a comment about how others see us

I think we’re brilliantly run, this seasons been a roaring success ?

The laughing stopped when we stayed up last season though. And unless your stag do friends support a big 6 team there is a creeping realisation that the same rules are coming for their club too.

Stay up again and we are getting closer to beating the biased system.

Everyone I speak too who are other fans say

We have been robbed in games

It's not fair how we get punished but the likes of city and Chelsea get away with it

They wish there owner was commited enough and rich enough to spend what we spend.

They don't blame us for signing players trying to compete

My Newcastle supporting pals say we have done wonders with wood

Guess you have just spoken to some jealous fans..

This is more what I get too...... with the occasional jab about signing loads of players!
