I do disagree on the complicity, in my view the chant referred to the fact we'd been criticised for the quantity of signings rather than the fact that we'd knowingly breeched PSR. I think we all assumed that we'd stayed in the rules and even if we didn't could've sold a player or players up until 30th June.
The first part is a summation of what I just posted though.
To be honest mate I think most of us suspected we had breached a PSR limit of £61m. It was pretty obvious, we knew we had spent big and even the free signings like Lingard, Navas etc were on very big wages. I get many fans dont think about the implications when they are salivating like spoiled children on transfer deadline day but it really wasn’t a massive shock although even I am surprised by how much we went over.

Are we?
Did we know that we would breach the P&S rules?
Did we think those in charge would attain that level of stupidity?
You’re only going to feed the narrative that those in the club are exempt from criticism if you deflect it elsewhere.

Randall told us that all was under control.
At no point did any fan think we were in excess of the P&S rules.

See my reply to Wassy above. I don’t think most of us at the time realised allowable loss was only £61m. However when that fact sinks in even a rough guess on wages, fees and fag packet maths puts us over.
Even if we as fans didn’t know it should have been blindingly obvious to absolutely everyone at the club.
Been saying my opinion on Randall for a long time now. Him telling us it was under control was a warning in itself.

I personally didn’t, I trusted the club to get it right.

So which season does the Johnson money go into? If they’re dock us points because it wasn’t in last season’s accounts, then I assume it must be in this season’s so surely we’re fine for this season FFP-wise?

Wont matter this season as its a rolling 3 years 22-24 and will come to the same thing.
Ironically it will matter next season as rules stand however word is the rules are changing completely and it will all be about the wage bill which probably fxxxs over every team outside the top 6.

The club should be releasing a statement apologising to the fans for knowingly breaking the rules thinking they could change them or be higher up the table. We've wasted money long before the Jonno saga. The rules are not fit for purpose but we knew them and wasted a lot of cash.
Take the 4 and lets not be f*****g victims all the time.

Yeah good point re rule change. Those new rules surely mean even less mobility in the league. I think once the impact of these new rules kick in fans are going to really ask what the point is.

I actually think Everton could well be in serious trouble when looking through the report - it states that forest had no aggravating factors and gives the example of previous non compliance. Everton’s defence will be that how can you be punished twice for the same loss?

Initial deduction 8 points with 4 points reduced because of early plea and cooperation.
All 6 mitigation pleas were dismissed.
We could have saved a bit more money and not hired DeMarco from all the good he did us.
