Yeah, a shame we didn't manage to hold on but a point is definitely a better result for us than them. The play since Nuno came in has been much better, coops would not have got us the 2 United victories, I don't think. So in my mind, we're 6 points better off for making the change. Set pieces are clearly a worry and it's annoying we're not improving but there is still time.

Keep the faith, couple of winnable home games now coming up. To be honest, 6 points might be enough this season (deduction dependant). It's not where any of us wanted to be this season, but if we can stay up, make some good signings, we're well set.... although the league is likely to be a lot harder next season.

Maybe, maybe not but there are games since then where I think we may well have done better. Certainly its a pretty pointless debate as we'll never know.

Facts are 11 points from Nuno's 12 games and 14 from Cooper's 13 games. So I think it's a bit disingenuous to claim we're doing better.

Its a better watch. Let's be honest we are missing chances.

14pts from 17 Cooper games, 0.82pts per game, 11pts from 12 Nuno games, 0.92 pts per game
Yes it’s not good but it’s a slight improvement.

For the first time in 35 years I’m seriously considering not renewing my ST. I hate the Premiership VAR and bad refs have ruined the game. I don’t want us to go down but I don’t want to watch us in the Prem either. Fed up of feeling sick before and after every game, watching players who have no connection with the fans and obviously are not bothered one iota about the club. The club, who have made such a big mistake financially forcing every single fan to feel sick to the stomach. After promising us faithfully they were keeping an eye on the FFP situation. I believed them, more fool me. After wanting us to go up for so long, where did it all go so wrong. Sorry not normally negative just so deflated!

Bad maths on my part, can't count! I certainly don't see it as a clear improvement either way, marginally better so far.

Non statistically speaking I'd say it's clear that we're much closer in almost all games under nuno. Without the bad luck we've had, the vast majority would agree that we've deserved more points than we've accumulated since Nuno took over. That's not an excuse, it's still worrying, but I believe that our 'luck' simply has to change and we will achieve the required points.

I haven’t checked stats but I would be interested to know share of possession and number of shots etc Nuno vs Cooper.
Points are what matters obviously but I suspect we make games a much more even contest under Nuno.

Shooting wise under Nuno 138 shots 50 on target in 12 games - 11.5 shots, 4 on target per game
18 goals from 17.93 XG
Shooting wise under Cooper 185 shots 54 shots on target in 17 games - 10.8 shots, 3.2 on target per game
17 goals from 18.83 XG

Possession wise
Cooper - 39.6%
Nuno - 36.6%

So pretty similar more effective shooting though.

Good stuff thank you, pretty much sums up the points that we so far at least have not really improved.

Do you have the same stats defensively?

It is also worth noting in Nuno's defence he has yet to play against Burnley or Sheff Utd or Palace or Everton so the stats should improve with the easier matches.

I was just reading am Athletic article that Nuno was booed briefly at the end of the game. The intangible factor of the unity provided by Cooper is a big miss.

Defensively

Cooper in 17 games - 225 shots conceded, 80 shots on target - 13.2 shots, 4.7 shots on target per game
30 goals conceded from 26.15 XG - XG per game 1.54
1.76 goals per game

Nuno in 12 games - 161 shots conceded, 52 shots on target - 13.4 shots, 4.3 shots on target per game
21 goals conceded from 16.34 XG - XG per game 1.36
1.75 goals per game

Similar again.
