Who knows but if it is announced tomorrow we know who breaks the news first - David Ornstein.
I did see a report earlier that we would not find out for another fortnight so maybe not tomorrow.

Apparently its Premier league rules that we have to receive a verdict within a week of the hearing so should be by close of business tomorrow.

Well Everton’s verdict was delivered 3 weeks late, so no guarantee it will be in next few days
Very unlikely any announcement 24 hrs before a relegation 6 pointer

The result of the commission needs to be communicated 7 days after the hearing. The rub is that nowhere does it state who it has to be communicated to. This, for example may be communicated to the Premier League, who may sit on it for a week!

That’s clearly what happened with Everton

I am confident we will escape a points deduction, and my logic is there is now a very recent precedent where Leicester City is concerned.

Leicester, as we have recently found out, have exceeded the £105m PSR limit set in the Premier League; but, as they are no longer a member of the EPL, they cannot be charged by them for breaching.
The EFL then, tried to take over and charge Leicester over the Premier League breach and gave them intended notice to charge them.
Leicester then said, hold on a minute EFL, you can’t get involved as we weren’t a member of the EFL when the breach took place, we were a Premier League member!!

This then went to a commission who, after representation by a certain Nick De Marco KC, sided with Leicester saying that, yes Leicester is immune from charges from the EFL as they were not a member when the breaches took place.

This has an obvious benefit to us. Using precedent, Forest can defend that the two seasons in the Championship should be discounted from the Premier League PSR calcs, and we have two further seasons to begin our 3-year rolling PSR formula, OR places us on the same 3-year rolling used by the Premier League. There cannot be a ‘pick-a-mix’ of EFL and EPL rules.

Is it right to assume we didn’t breach any of the EFL rules.

Yes
Kieran McKenna confirmed the last 2 years EFL accounts had us just within the limits

Premier league already looking bad. If they drag it out and the final verdict is after the end of the season there is good reason to think they are no longer fit to run the league. Give it back to the EFL

This country desperately needs the football regulator. The EPL runs football in this country but is controlled by a handful of clubs who's only aim is to look after themselves. We're in that bracket now,  we may not be in a few months.

In the EPL ticket prices look like shooting up again, while player wages continue to rise. It'll never happen but with the tv contracts the EPL has, clubs could afford to let fans in for free.

Only government can straighten out the game.

If our only hope is the government were completely f**ked

Its an interesting point though Pap. Forest consistently vote with the big clubs on PL meetings. Forest were one of the 10 clubs that voted against the new EFL deal earlier this week.
You are correct with TV money we could let fans in for free yet we are told in order to be competitive we should move from the CG to a bigger stadium where we can fleece even more fans for even more money.
Its an uncomfortable choice to be a part of this monster

Been thinking about Everton.

Surely if just for example we get a 3 point deduction then they have to get 6.

Or if we get 6 they must get 10 etc.

Based on the simple logic that this is our first charge and Everton are reoffenders.

We shouldn’t get any. The rules are discriminatory against promoted clubs. They are uncompetitive and i bet if we get a deduction and it gets us relegated we will not have heard the last of it. Mr Maranakis would surely take it to court and seek financial compensation. The premier league might be prepared for that and could easily afford it but it wouldn’t do its reputation any good in the wider football world. They already have parliament breathing down their neck with an independent regulator. That might be a reason why they are changing them. I would be surprised if Mr Maranakis accepts any points deduction.

Or, based on Everton’s own arguments against their second charge (ie they shouldn’t be punished again/as much because they’ve already been punished for 2 of the three year period), our maximum points deduction should be 2 points (ie one third of their 6 points for three years’ breach) because we were over the limit for just one year).

Everton would then get a further 2 points deduction for their second offence.

However I do like the jurisdiction argument above- apart from the fact we have already admitted a breach.
I suspect that ace is up the sleeve if we had to appeal a deduction

Raised this point many times when discussing the issue with many people. 100% in agreement. The arguments have been that Everton's first infringement is not linked to the second one....not sure it matters!
