One game at a time.
Not looking forward to the crappy long journey home from Brighton but would be alot more bearable if we pick up points.
We need to cut out individual errors and rediscover our shooting boots-and quickly. 1 win in last 7 or something like that. Not good at all.

Newcastle, Liverpool, Villa, Arsenal included in that to be fair to the team. Gets easier after Brighton game and its a great time for that fixture too.
Next four games will go a long way to determining the final outcome. If it goes well we could have a sizeable lead, if it doesn't we could be in the relegation zone.

We have 10 games left, currently 7 against bottom half teams (including all of the bottom three) plus Wolves who are 9th. We've had a tough run, it's making it look worse than it is. This is the thing when you get tough fixtures first it really does put the pressure on. That said we have the fixtures remaining to go on a run of wins. 2-3 in a row and we'll walk it (barring painful points deductions)
Splitting it in half:
Luton (A)
Palace (H)
Fulham (H)
Spurs (A)
Wolves (H)
Even if you're pessimistic you've got to think we'll win at least one of those home games plus whatever we get out of Luton and a few draws. It seems unlikely to me we don't win at least one of those games. I would expect somewhere in the 6-9 points range.
In that same timeframe, Luton have:
Bournemouth (A)
Forest (H)
Spurs (A)
Arsenal (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Man City (A)
Pretty tough, Bournemouth their only real chance of the away games then Bournemouth again and Forest. Quite conceivable they only get 2-4 points from that run and we build a lead.
Obviously the proverbial 6 pointer on Sat changes everything!

If Luton don’t win mid week and then we beat them on Saturday and get a suspended sentence, we will be 6 pts clear of them with some winnable fixtures ahead.
If Luton do win mid week and then beat us on Saturday, and we get a 6 point deduction, we will be 9 points behind them.
It’s simply the most important game of the season.

At the start of the season Wolves had a string of high profile decisions go against them and they were vocal in the media and tipped to go down with a weakened squad and financial uncertainty. All forgotten.
Until two weeks ago Palace were that doomed their fans were relying on our points deduction to keep them safe. Almost forgotten.
We don't have a issue with scoring goals as most of the season we've lost 3-2. Obviously we can get relegated on Friday if our financial business is worse than expected but on the pitch we have every chance to pull away.
I'm not deluded, I know our form and the negative patterns but the margins are fine.
We really need to end this week not being victims because it's a bad look. If we get shit on f**k it we never had a chance anyway and we'll go back to having players we like and 3pm KO's with better finances. If we get treated fairly it's up to us and the players to get results against teams below us.

We seem to raise our game against the better teams to be honest so I’m not sure how you reach that conclusion.

I'd imagine that's based on our wins this season have been prodominently against teams in the top 10.

With the exception of when we play each, Luton only play Bournemouth from the bottom half, in the selection of fixtures being discussed.

It doesnt matter who plays who at the end of the day. The bottom line is if we carry on playing the way we did against Brighton, we will go down. Plain and simple.
The players have got to start getting their shit together and not playing shit.
The manager has got to approach each game as though we are playing Liverpool or United again. We were good enough against both of those sides way past the 90 minute mark. We were unfortunate against the scousers (understatement I know) but they are one of the best teams in Europe, if not the world at the present time. We need to apply that same mentality and determination against the sides we have still got to play. If we do that we will be sound. If not, we will be toast!!

Which is what made the Brighton line up so frustrating.

It's surely pretty basic statistics to suggest that a team is more likely to get more points against the bottom half than top half.
Fwiw, we've played 11 games against bottom half teams and scored 11 points at 1 point per game. We've played 17 games against top half teams and scored 13 points at 0.76 per game.
