Conceding Soft Goals

Week after week. Absolutely sick of seeing us score twice and still lose!

Guess we can’t concede a freekick or corner next sat as we’re up against Ward-Prowse again.

next week we will outplay Wham and lose. I think
it is time to go back to three central defenders and if Fellipe is fit enough he needs to
play. He is the best header of a ball amongst the defenders we have. We are going down if we carry on like we did today and most of the season.

Bump.

Seems this problem just won't go away.

Going forward from here for me it has to be Boly and Murillo when fit and available.

We should note that the system we now play under Nuno causes the 4th goal. Omo shpuld have emptied but our tactics is to try to play ourselves out of trouble.

Yes, his pass wasn't good enough, but we have yo recognise why he attempted it

It applies to the other mistakes too, we're playing with less protection for the defenders and playing further forward so we're asking them to do more.

We're actually playing from deeper strangely enough.

Really hope that Nuno has got this sorted this season.

It was really frustrating to concede so many goals from set pieces.

I thought we improved a lot on the set plays at the end of the season. The improvement started at Everton iirc.

I saw it mentioned on social media but it felt like a myth to me at the games.

Can you remember before the Everton game we were shitting ourselves about playing a set piece team? We coped admirably on the day iirc.

Everton was the fifth game from the end of the season?

We then played City, Sheff Utd, Chelsea and Burnley?

Have a read of the Chelsea match day thread mate, although not set piece related.

As I say, I hope he sorts it out defensively but I think any suggestion that he had is more myth than fact.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure we're still not at it, but I'm hoping it's being addressed.
