Back to Dourekas, this chap is very highly regarded by Marinakis, there is a reason why he was at Olympiakos for more than 20 years, he is like Marinakis right hand. He is the players 'to go to man' with all their 'problems and needs' etc.
I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall at some of those conversations.

The board have got a lot of stick this week but can we give some abuse to karanka please. Based on the information we have he walked out on us the day before a game in which we really needed to win. If he was going to walk should’ve been after the Leeds game.
Clearly he’s been screwed by off field meddling but also he’s been stubborn, winey and not particularly professional. As a professional in any job when you’re getting shit from above you still do your job to the best of your ability. Was the interference enough to warrant the reaction he’s given? (Obviously we can’t really comment properly as we don’t know whats happened, we can only speculate but it feels like others have to put up with as bad)

I don’t believe for one second that he has walked.

I don’t either but it does seem odd that it would happen on a Friday. Why not fake the walking last weekend if that’s what happened?

Whatever happened and how it happened, it was bad timing.
Never heard of a manager 'leaving' on a Friday before.

Yeah, apart from the club statement saying he requested to end his contract, and the fact that he walked away from Boro in the middle of a promotion push too, it's totally implausable :D

Who said it wasn’t plausible?

I'd say it was likely. Think the club manouvered itself as such to a certain degree, but also think AK has bottled it and left us in the shizzle when there was no need to.
Well for me the season is write off now. I say that mainly because the injuries and suspensions have basically ballsed up what looked like a decent run of fixtures which included the worse team in the division in Reading.

Unfortunately i tend to agree.
We need a drastic upturn in performance and attitude otherwise we'll stutter to a low mid-table finish.
Injuries and suspensions to key players have really hit us hard as well.
However hopefully we can get a boost with a decent manager appointed and a few quality signings this month.
If we fail on both counts then confidence will be shot.
My feel good factor about the season has certainly diminished somewhat i know that much.

Getting back to the thread title....I thought Simon Ireland got quite alot wrong in tricky circumstances. Probably didn't want the gig in fairness. Stating the obvious play on words.... Brazil better than Ireland.
