FA Cup Ticket Prices Entitlement

It's all getting a bit lively on Internet as prices for FA Cup 5th round have been released.

Tickets are £25 for away fans but only lower Trentend SC holders can get same price.

In A block my seat is £35 (£40 if it goes to general sale).

Alot of folk are ranting "Why are away fans paying less than most SC holder"?

My thoughts: Lower Bridgford is fun but unless you're 6'8 or in seats above entries, the view is sh1te. Lower TE is actually a bit better and being offered for same price. Cheap seats cheap prices.

Also, in League all adult away tickets are £30. So last Saturday a ticket in A block was £51 but Newcastle fans with crap view paid £30. At Brentford I was talking to a guy who was in Brentford end near away end literally 5 or 6 metres away and paid almost double our £30. Swings and roundabouts?

So Forest who need to maximise income have had two really good FA Cup crowds at home for £10 and £17 and now draw best supported club in UK so have to give up 4400 seats. Leaves about 25000 seats for sale which, let's be honest we could sell twice over due to opposition.

Many SC holders haven't actually bothered so far vs Bristol and Blackpool so what should club do?

I think prices are reflective of magnitude of game with SC holders offered a £5 discount to book own  seat.

Non SC holders will definitely be able to scramble for about 5000 tickets possibly more. It will sell out and bring in around £750k in ticket revenue.

I am certainly not a rich man-the opposite actually following redundancy- but I will choose to go. Others have the option not too. If £35 is beyond their budget, then so is £25. If it were £100 a ticket I wouldn't be going, At £35 I can stretch to it.

Some people want the club to spend millions on players, new stands etc and moan when we land a plum 5th round tie under the lights and are asked to pay more than £10 a head.

Rant over. Am I wrong? Kids prices are still super cheap BTW.

I get sick of the whining on Twitter over tickets.

Why do some people think they have a divine right to an away ticket for example.

All this i have been to more away games than you bollocks or I was going to Preston on a Tuesday night and now I can't get a ticket for Villa or Man Utd.

Tough shit you are not the only fan.

Agree Sniff. Both me and my Dad have been going all our lives and yet due to some unforseen health issues with him a couple of years ago I'm now locked out of the place and unable to get tickets. It hurts that i haven't been able to share in these last few years. I hope all these kids that are going appreciate the experience because there's thousands of people like me who would gladly take their seats.

Exactly Pap. I remember going up to Sunderland for a meaningless League Cup tie on a Tuesday night when the majority of our allocation was sent back. Also down to Wimbledon midweek for a pointless FA Cup replay when once again we didn't sell the majority of our allocation.

Now every time I come to a match it costs me 500 quid.

So I don't give a shit about the kid who was going to Preston on a Tuesday night when we were in the Championship and now he is slagging the club off because he can't get a Villa ticket.

There's absolutely no appreciation coming from the club of me and my mate's trip to Halifax away on the football special in 1988.  Nor the fact that my missus and I spunked £1000 on club shares when the club floated.  We've all been committed in our own way over the years.

To be fair I think anyone who witnessed the 3-0 away defeat in the cup at Chester back in 2005 should be entitled to free tickets for life. Although surely those people must still be receiving therapy for what they saw.

I was there!

To be honest, I give the home cup ties a miss, i have a season ticket and an away membership and spend enough money that paying £35 to sit in my own seat just doesn’t sit well with me.

I’m also quite content that it allows someone the opportunity to go to the game in my stead who wouldn’t necessarily always get an opportunity.

I agree with Salvatore, I was at Chester and we do need free tickets to compensate for the therapy needed after that match.

Ah the Shay. Was a great result on the way to some brilliant trips as we got drawn away every round!

Since I posted this some of the stuff on Social media beggars belief. One guy complaining about tickets costing £45 when away fans paying only £25..turns out he's a SC holder in Lower Bridgford so has a few days to pick anywhere in the ground from the premium half way line £45 seats he was moaning about to the...you guessed it...£25 seats in Lower Trentend.

If we stay up I'm cutting right back on away games for a variety of reasons.  I can't be ar$ed with the Wednesday morning stresses every other week.
If we go down....I'll probably go to every game.

Watch until the end for a glorious reaction from the Forest fans. Gary Holt what a player.
