We had to gamble. Sick of reading (elsewhere) the list of players we have signed but contributed very little. This is such-hind sight 20 20 bull sh1t. Every single signing was to some extent a gamble. Taiwo was average at best before Christmas. Mangala was average last season. MGW took half a season to hit his stride. All were gambles-unproven in Prem- that cost fair sums but now look like shrewd signings.
Dennis, Shelvey and Wood were all proven in Premier League yet are being held up as examples of where we got it wrong. (Wood doing OK this season mind). If Dennis and Shelvey had hit their best form for Forest, then 2 others would be scapegoated. A team of frees and loans may not have kept us up!! F@(King Facebook idiots.
I get we're frustrated and a bit nervous, but the kn@b on social media who produced his own spread sheet really finished me off and boiled my pi$$.
We have f@(ked up a bit, nothing malicious, just trying to establish ourselves in toughest league in world after being sh1te for 20 odd years. Ambition and best intentions and let's see how it pans out.
Rant over.
Transfers is not an exact science. Some come off other dont. Justin Fashanu, Ian Wallace, Ian Butterworth, Carl Tyler just a few names off the top of my head who came for decent money amd failed. Brighton are held up as a shining light for transfers but their luck will run out soon. Sancho, Casimiro, all big clubs make errors.

Everton fans seem to think that selling Richarlison is the same as selling Johnson and also that they could’ve got 80m instead of 60m but they don’t book all that money like we have for Johnson because Johnson is Homegrown
Everton can’t prove they would’ve got any more for Richarlison whereas we can prove that we got more for Johnson
35m in June to 47.5m in August
We are also not misleading the Premier League at all but cooperating, Forest and the Prem are still discussing how much we have breached by so I’m assuming we haven’t lost to much over the 61m
There is no way we get a big points deduction only minor or a fine - But that’s just my view, just got to see how it pans out. Nick De Marco will earn his money.

You're talking about players like they're bought off of jalopy corner, sold as seen. Utter nonsense

Two questions a prediction league for how many pages this thread will run for.
The Premier League have said that a date has been set for Man City but will not say when, is this a ploy to placate the politicians?

Gordon much better this season than last tbf.
That said, BJ was very poor vs United.

Would that not ruin our argument?
Can't really claim we could've got 30m when we couldn't because he wasn't interested!
I don't see how it would harm our argument. I'm guessing we'd say 'Well, we agreed to sell him but he said no.'
Well it does because you can't claim we could've got 30m as we tried and failed.
We could agree to sell someone to Saudi Arabia tomorrow but if they say no we can't just bank the profit.
As you say below too, it does make the argument we held out for a better fee not work either.
If this is true, doesn't exactly make good reading for Spurs, they overpaid by 17.5m! Mugs

As we have breached I'm not against a punishment as it is deserved however I truly believe "punishment that fits the crime". Our breach seems minor and was rectified almost immediately.
They will be thinking that they have already been punished for two of the three years that fall under the current charge and therefore to be punished again for those aspects would be unfair and that any charge should solely relate to their financial performance for last season alone.

I’m pretty sure it’s just Forest telling a timeline, and that we were willing to sell before July
Be willing and being able are two different things, can't bank a profit on something that didn't happen.

I think its starting to make more sense now.
We were aware we were tight for FFP, gambled on spending anyway to try and stay up which worked out (Navas. Danilo, Felipe were all key signed in January with I would imagine loan fees and hefty wages).
We intended to balance the books by selling Brennan, he said no, so we accepted that we would then fail (which makes me think it must be a fail by a reasonable amount otherwise you sell someone else). We presume at this point the penalty is unlikely to be too severe, then Everton get hit with a big penalty and it was too late for us at that point to rectify it.
We accept the penalty, hopefully only get a points penalty in the region of 3-5 (surely got to be penalised for the points earned when Brennan played).
We use the Jonno money to buy a top keeper this window and whatever else we need. I've heard this Tavares bloke looks a bargain at 12m, let's snap him up. We stay up by 15 points as Luton, Burnley and Sheff U are still shit and Everton will get more points deducted. Problem solved.

The wages also includes promotion bonuses. If anyone wants me to post the pics let me know.
The wage bill for last season was reportedly 71m.
It’s certainly not excessive in line with other similar sized clubs
I dont claim to be an expert on this R73 but my understanding is that for the average Premier League club, wages make up 70-80% of turnover. Therefore if Forest are capped to a £61m loss last season, having a similar size wage bill with lower permitted losses equals we have a problem.
71m wage bill.
Income of around 160m
114m Tv Rights
30m ticket money
Rest accross sponsorship etc

Sun apparently reporting us and Everton will 'face a minimum six point deduction.'
However, if the Sun reported it was nighttime I'd go outside to check.
