Billy gives you a 12 month injection of progress but the cost to the club is chaos for the 4 years after he leaves.
Hes toxic, thats why no one in the game will touch him.

Personally, I think the bloke is a crook.
I would rather drown in a barrel of semen than have that clunge back at our club.

Okay I will bite.
What did Billy Davies do except screw the club over?
Did he get us promoted?
He got us several great seasons of entertaining playoff football.
Something which I've sorely missed since, and which no manager has been able to touch.
Hell before Fawspaz stupidly undermined him we were top 6 all season with Simon Cox up front, Halford at CB and numerous other shite players he got lumbered with. Davies would piss the top 6 with this squad.
Don't worry, I'm under no illusion that he'll not return. It's just sad that the reason he won't is because there's thousands of daft sods out there, including owners & board staff, who think they can get better for a club like ours, despite now being on the TENTH attempt to.
Facts are 10th attempt, no manager has matched what he did in the league since.
Several ?
Yep, several.
2 under Doughty, 1/2 under Fawaz & a nats nacker off taking us from 13th to the playoffs after taking over from SOD.
There's absolutely no doubting his record. Folk can dislike him all they want, he aint coming back, but the absolute stonewall fact is the man has NEVER finished outside the top 6 with any side, Preston, Derby or us, given a full season.
For a club so desperate to be a top 6 side it's amazing that folk would sooner us spunk 25m on a manager to float around mid-table all season. Then they wonder why the club is declining.
It's all irrelevant, Davies is too unfashionable for these Greeks, but if we want a guarenteed the top 6 finish next season, just employ and back the man who's never finished outside the top 6 in a full season. It's not rocket science.

Aitor Karanka: “It's been an absolute privilege to manage this historic club. Thank you to @NFFC the staff at the stadium and the training ground, the players and the fans for all of your great support from the beginning to the end. Wish you all the best for the future. Come on you Reds!”
That is classy

Ask a Derby fan if they feel the players he brought in after they 'backed him' were signings made in the long term interest of their club. They were a joke in the prem and thta was down to Billy going mental with the cheque book.

I'd settle for being a Prem joke.
Davies is clearly not a Prem manager. But it's laughable that we still have fans who think we're a club already there

More than any before or since in the past 20 years.
