Most definitely. Still upset from watching Villa robbed of top spot last night by disgraceful refereeing and then today happened. Makes you wonder what the point is.

VAR has been a disaster. What has it added to the game? Is the game better off with it? No.

It's actively made it worse, I can't actually believe how bad its been executed. It should be so simple too, either a 30 seconds clock or manager referrals like in most other sports.

There are days when I definitely miss the Championship.
Oh no, I can’t bare to think of having another stint in that league.

No VAR
3pm Saturday kick offs

Open competitive league, bottom can beat top in any game
More chance for homegrown players and a team you can identify with.
You have to be really poor to be at risk of relegation.

More matches. And cheaper tickets.
It was getting increasingly distorted by the parachute system and chasm from the Premier league, but for the most part a very enjoyable league for me.
Not that I think we’re going down anyway. Get Awoniyi back, some more time for Elanga and CHO and Jan signings and we should be sweet (irrespective of coach).
But the comment stands, I really enjoyed the championship.

VAR, incompetent Refs and players diving as well. I hate to see a player go down, holding onto a part of his body that hasnt even been touched.
Too many cheats in the game for me now!

We has incompetent refs in the Championship too of course but I actually think even Keith Stroud wasn’t as bad as the twat we had today.
Agree about the diving, don’t like seeing our players do it either. Clough would have been furious if one of our guys had done it.

Yeah plus if we did go down we'd be one of those distorted teams with parachute payments so it'd be more enjoyable.
Not that I want to go down either of course.

I really don’t feel we will go down. Not saying we’re too good to go down, that’s something I will never say, I just think once we strengthen in January we will be fine.
It would’ve been interesting to see how the 11 men would’ve fsired today, I would like to think we would have won.
The mini break in January should work in our favour, time to bed any new players in (GK and striker at minimum) and for the coaches to work on the existing players.
I’m not saying it’s going to be easy but we should be ok.
Don’t see the point of VAR, the seem to get as many wrong as they do right, it ruins the game.
Knew we had a bad ref today when he kept blowing for everything, he totally lost the plot, and against Bournemouth of all teams.

Going down with parachute payments doesn’t guarantee success. I appreciate it may seem like that looking at this season’s Championship, but for every Leicester there’s a Norwich or a Stoke.
As for January transfers, we can’t just magic a new premiership striker, it’s not that easy if it was everyone would be doing it.
My overall concern apart from finances is the working environment and the recruitment environment behind the scenes.
If I was EM I’d be looking at yesterdays opponent and thinking ‘ I’ve spent £300 million quid, why aren’t we doing what they’re doing’
Money is no guarantee of success but surely it shouldn’t be buying him one of the worst teams in the league. (Luton, who have spent 50p will be above us by New Year. )
I appreciate all EM has invested into the club but if it’s not done properly then what’s the point? It’s just throwing money away and potentially ruining the clubs finances in the long run isn’t it?

I hate to be a doom monger but i think we will be relegated. Luton are fighting like dogs and getting some home wins. Burnley have started to adapt to the division and getting some goals. Our problem is that we have played most of the home games we would look to be getting victories from. Most of the best teams are still to visit the city ground. we either need to start winning away or get some victories at home against teams we wouldn’t expect to beat. My heart hopes this happens but my head says it won’t. No team with a dodgy keeper thrives especially one that is bang average for the division as a whole. We are in big trouble.
