If Nuno comes in then there's a chance we dont. We need a composed coach who has top level experience and has coached world class players.... Nuno has that.

why is Cooper done. He has been at the club just over two years. That started with us bottom of the championship with one point from seven games to us getting promoted in the same season. In our first season back in the premier league he keeps us up against the odds. Teams with better squads than us finished below us.  Two years later we are five points off the relegation places and he’s ‘done’ and we are replacing him with out of work manager whose last job was in Saudi Arabia. I don’t get it. Where do we honestly think we should be in this league.

12th ish. And I'd have expected to see a bit more composure in games against sides at home who people say are three of the worse teams ever in the division. Have you watched the last 5 or 6 games. Its been pathetic.

I have been to every game this season. We were terrible at Fulham but until they scored the first goal after about 25 minutes that game was even. We did give up but i think the players know deep down that if we concede first it is game over because we don’t have the fire power to score goals without Taiwo. We were the better side against Wolves and played ok against Spurs. In that game the keeper gave them two goals and the usual lack of fire power resulted in us not scoring. Last season we had a similar run with Taiwo injured. We are though five points off the relegation spots so there is room for it to get worse. Consequently, it is still a gamble sacking Cooper. Let’s be honest he has done a remarkable job at our club in the two years he has been here. Appointing Nuno does not fill me with optimism that he is going to get us into any better form. If it is Cooper who wanted those two poor keepers, Chris Wood and Shelvey, he has to take some responsibility for those signings but is swapping him for Nuno now going to improve us. Personally I think that is very unlikely.

Interesting timing with Lopetegui interview with Sky about wanting a return. He is very clear it needs to be the right project, are we not the right project hence being able to get it over the line?

If that is the case then fair does to the club for looking at other alternatives. I can understand why going from Glasner and Lopetegui to Nunes might raise eye brows and concerns but on the face of it he has more experience than those two in the Premier League and right now, better finishes than those also. If they don’t want to come then do we as fans really want them? I get most of us still want Cooper to succeed and disappointed with Nunes possibly replacing him but if he does then he should get our full support and the opportunity to show what he can do. If he turns out to be useless then fair enough criticise then.

If he turns out to be useless we may be supporting a Championship team again. Need to get this right. Need to get a manager who with a high degree of probability will do better than the current manager or back Cooper to turn it around.

If we do stay up this season, we're almost certainly going down next season, on our currently trajectory. Leicester and maybe Leeds or Southampton will be back and they'll be decent.

I remember a similar reaction to what we are seeing with Nuno when Steve was appointed.

Just compare their two records.

It's a no contest.

I think so Sniff. I am very much warming to the idea, especially as we have the players for his preferred formations too. It's all looking very much likely that it will happen this week.

I'll be getting behind Nuno.

Ive just been told Cooper may be getting sacked today. He's been summoned to a meeting this morning.
