Sniffer, in my humble opinion in answer to your question is that EM has to make the call and not the fans, his club and money invested and a top business man make decisions like this on a daily basis.

Imagine the scene though. A new manager comes in, we go a couple of goals down in his first match in charge and the fans start chanting Stevie Cooper. How is the new man going to deal with that.

This whole thing is starting to turn into a bit of a mess and like SM said we need some clarification one way or the other and we need it soon.

I can even sniff a bit of a divide creeping in after reading some things on social media etc.

Perhaps I am thinking too much and getting too deep into it I don't know but I fail to see how this present situation we currently find ourselves in is doing us any good.

TBH Sniff the vast majority of fans will 100% understand if Coops is replaced.
It’s not like EM hasn’t given him the best of chances.
EM simply cannot let the situation get any worse.
For me he gets the next 2 home games and Coops has to at least win one of them.

After Man Utd over Christmas, we don’t have another league game until 20th Jan.

This is crucial this next 2 games IMO

I asked a really good question yesterday but not one single person answered it.

So I will ask it again and there is no agenda behind it it's just a question.

So, are fans who are backing Cooper and constantly chanting his name during matches going to take responsibility if Steve gets us relegated?

But you could just as equally ask the other fans, if someone new comes in and we don’t start winning games,would they take responsibility? That’s absurd surely, none of us have a crystal ball just an opinion on who or what situation is most likely to avoid relegation. 

I get it from EM’s point of view, he has in his mind spent a lot of money and right or wrong he expects a higher league position for that. 

For what it’s worth I think changing manager at the moment would be futile and statistically it has been shown to make little to no difference when teams do this. Especially when our problems are mainly due to our squad. Put a fit striker in this team and see the change. 

If EM wants to look at people responsible I tentatively suggest ( without knowing a lot of behind the scenes at Forest), that he looks at those responsible for our transfers. How have other teams got it so right spending less than us and we have got it so wrong?

The sad reality is that while I think Steve is the best chance we’ve got I still think there’s a very high chance he will take us down, I just think it’s even higher if someone new comes in.

Exactly. If any candidate backed themselves surely they would be saying “look at that support, I want some of that!”

Meanwhile Cooper has one last chance, after which EM simply must make a decision one way or the other.

I will always be Pro-Cooper and get behind the team. There will come a time when the owner will decide he is not. At this time i will then back the owner, the club and the new manager. It does not mean i agree with the decision or like it. I support NFFC and always will.

There is clearly a divide and growing imo. Go on social media and dare to have the view that perhaps it is time to replace Cooper and you are told you aren’t a true fan. Lots talking about how they’ll stop supporting Forest if Cooper is sacked, blame the owner etc etc. it really is becoming a them and us scenario in terms of the ‘Cooper in no matter what’ brigade and the ‘Time for a change’ brigade. Many of the former appearing to be completely unable to see the position in terms of results and overall poor play and also that it is possible to say thank you Steve for all you have achieved and done for this great club but sadly we need to change as results etc just aren’t happening.  

What gets me is the ‘Cooper In’ brigade talking about making the atmosphere electric and showing their full support for Cooper v Spurs on Friday. What will happen though when we inevitably go behind or the performance is lacklustre? Will those same fans still be singing or will it become the usual library it does when things go wrong?

Plus it's okay for a new manager to have belief and back himself but it's not so easy when you have 20 thousand people screaming at you to f**k off etc. Put yourself in their place.
