Our away form has been pretty good this year hasn't it?

Only lost to Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd & Liverpool. Hardly anything to complain about. 

Good win vs Chelsea, plus decent point at Palace.

West Ham. Fulham, Wolves next three away games. Decent chance to hopefully get that 2nd away win in one of those three.

Chelsea Palace Arsenal and Man City were all decent performances all be it with different outcomes.
ManUtd was good until we panicked and lost the plot. Liverpool was dire with few redeeming features, I can accept a defeat but not a surrender.

That said its largely better than last year so far, the next 3 away games all against teams that we are looking to finish around or ideally above. So need to be looking to take some points off all 3.

No, plus look at last seasons starting 11 at West Ham and then look at today's.

Yeah we were keeping it tight then with 20 to go Cooper made one of his trademark attacking subs and then we fell apart.

None of the others have been backed by their owners like we have.

I think it's a poor comparison.

It was simply looking at the facts of the league positions. There is far more to becoming established and being successful than just spending big on transfers as you know.

If you want to just look at spending I grant you the current bottom 3 are nowhere near our squad value but both Fulham and Bournemouth are between £300-400m same as us. Both have spent around £100m on incomings in each of the previous 2 seasons. Both of those also had more expensive and settled squads than Forest when they were promoted. Forest arent the only club with a generous and ambitious owner.

Villa is probably the trajectory you want to look at as a comparison. They stated they were aiming for the top 6 when they were promoted and they have spent very big to do so. Their league placings since promotion as follows, 17th, 14th, 11th, 14th, 7th, currently 5th.
Thats the realistic and plausible club to look at.

I was thinking the exact same thing the other day. If I were them, I'd probably take a -12 point punishment if it gave them a clean sweep in terms of their finances. 

However, don't the punishments usually come with a transfer ban etc? I think that would be problematic for them.
