Our Goalkeepers
Turner has been very good so far until yesterday so harsh on him.
But what Tricky said was correct, he is a bit slow with his feet and Frank said to his team to put him under pressure. Now every coach in the PL has seen it.
This is where the dilemma is, do you give Turner a chance to put a bad game behind him or change now?

I tend to agree, but how good is vlachodimos?
Respectfully none of us here in the uk are likely to really know.

I’ve no doubt Cooper will ultimately play the best player for the position.
Ask worral McKenna and yates.

I said at the time I think Vlachodimos is a better goalkeeper than Turner and I haven't seen anything to change my mind.

I only suggested that it might be time. I didn't say that Turner should be dropped, stripped of his squad number and sold so it's hardly harsh what I said.

I agree that Turner has done okay so far but that doesn't mean that somebody else couldn't have done better.

In isolation he was poor yesterday.
There were a handful of times he nearly cost us a goal with the ball at his feet.
He also should have comfortably saved their goal.
I guess it’s all down to how the GK coach rates Vlachodimos. On paper he has better CV, but I guess also will depend on training

Poor performances result in players losing their place. Its not harsh, its how it should be. Just the reality im afraid.

Hasn’t Turner just become a new father? Not impossible he is having a few sleepless nights that is affecting his form. Agree that exempt him from being dropped if Vlacho is looking good in training.
The problem is blooding any new keeper mid season usually leads to the odd mistake.

If he is a better keeper (I don't have any idea) then Turner might be struggling to keep his spot for much longer. He's done fairly well getting better each game......until yesterday.  Normally I'd say don't drop a player for one bad performance  but if a potentially better keeper is waiting in the wings then it could happen. Good management to have kept playing Turner, but be interesting going forward.

I think this week turner has to show in training that it was a one off, and Vlach is there to keep him on his toes like that.

If there is a change maybe it shows that the game got to him and vlach deserves an opportunity

Username did raise a valid point with regards to the back passes he was receiving, especially from Boly. If the ball is being passed to his weak foot, he is going to struggle. I know he should be able to use either foot, but not everyone can do that. Maybe that is something all our defenders need to be made aware of, although it has always been the case that defenders should know where the keeper wants the ball

Thats got to be basic football training though Tricks. These are elite footballers, not Derby players.

Basic football training for any centre back at any level is to know which side their keeper prefers the ball played to. That said a few of Turners mistakes were of his own making and slowness to react.

In theory yes but there are probably about a dozen goalies in the Prem who really look comfortable with the ball at their feet.
