Manchester City - Nottingham Forest
I did wonder why he subbed sangare instead of mangala, was it Cus of the yellow?

Trying to predict the line up for Brentford is gonna be hard!

Think it was due to the yellow, but also Sangare looked tired and came off on his debut too. Maybe he can't keep up with 90mins of Prem football just yet. I thought Mangala played well today, though he often goes under the radar

We were poor for the first 15 minutes and the goals down to Taveres for me but then again it is Man City and their passing and movement is sublime.
The game settled a bit and what I realised is how good Man City are are the dark side of the game. Experts at technical fouls.
Thought Awonyi could have had a couple with better composure and touch.
After the sending off we really did dominate the ball. So we should you may say but this is Man City…
When we went 4231 we looked very good and played a much higher line that has been my big bear with Worrall and mckenna. Man City expertly game managed the second half, tactical fouls - long goal
Kicks- diving - arguing and irritating and basically managing the game to keep us at arms length.
Elanga had a good shot in injury time but that was about it.
I also agree when aina went off and origi and wood came on we lost a bit of momentum.
We need to be aiming for a postive goal difference now -

Difference from last season is massive imo - Yes it helped with the Red Card
First Goal was Quality and then 2nd goal was poor
In the 2nd Half we had 69% possession 9 Shots 3 on Target - City’s only chance in the 2nd Half was Haaland sitter
Dominguez looked really good
We made Positive Changes both Elanga and CHO looked a threat

On to Brentford

Positives
- Only 2-0
- Weirdly, they only actually created 3 chances in first half, but took 2.
-Domingez looks like a player, very good debut.
-We dominated 2nd half.
- Created 4 decent chances that I remember.
- Had City rattled, if we could have got one, they looked like they would sh1t the bed.
- Ola Aina continues to impress.
- Green shoots of recovery 2nd half for MGW after another 45 minutes of wasting possession
- Boly very good again.
- Niakhates arm is better, so throw ins are back.
- Gave City a proper game
- Montiel looked much more like a guy who won a World Cup.
- CHO. He looks after the ball so well.

Negatives.
- We either weren't good enough or we stood off City first 15 minutes and we really struggled.
- Very good first goal, but poor 2nd goal.
- I know it's "modern football" but MGW throwing himself on the floor as if he'd been shot in the throat was not for me. At time I assumed it was bad, but replay shows its hardly assault. Yes it's a red these days, but I don't like that.
- Taiwo could/should have scored. I love the guy but his touch was sublime when through, but attempted lob finish was poor. He is probably a "streak" CF, who couldn't miss a few weeks back, so his time will come again.
- We couldn't make our pressure count.
- Sangare clearly needs more time to adjust.

Overall lots of positives to take away. 20 straight home wins for City so it surprises me to read so much criticism of teams efforts.
I actually think we are looking better away than home at present....

I cant understand why City were so wound up and strange yesterday. It started with Peps rant about our 2 european cups and continued through the game.. Rodri does that which is completely out of character apparently and then when they go a goal down, even though they could still probably match us with 10 men, they change their shape completely and decide to play 5 at the back. I thought it was all pretty strange from them.

MOTD footage:

Seen people saying it's completely one sided but not paid much attention but our game vs City was embarrassing. All analysis of city players even one who only played 45 minutes!

I'd like think that our improvements since a year ago persuaded Pep thst he needed to show us the respect of a good team. A year ago, they'd have rolled us over with 10 men no problem. This year they tried to hold on to what they had and manage the game. If Taiwo puts one away it would have been very interesting.

Yep, thats the only logical conclusion. It feels a bit weird doesn't it? The football establishment begining to respect us.

If Pep's doing it, maybe the press, the talksports, the motds of this world might follow soon.

It was bizarre, Pep got booked early, they squared up to our players so many times, just seemed riled all game. Odd
