CF: Awoniyi, Origi, Wood.

I haven't mentioned Kouyate and Williams.

What a squad of players that is!

You've only got 7 home growns, need one more.
It is looking impressive though, isn't it?

The rule is the other way around. Its a max of 17 non homegrown which is subtly different.

The good news is we are only at 16 on the above list. The one I suspect you got wrong is Chris Wood who signed for West Brom at 16 years.

We will probably have a 3rd goalkeeper which is probably Hennessey also home grown.

The one I just cannot see a place for is Santos. Counts as a squad place despite being U21, not homegrown and ultimately not ours.

Are you sure about that.
Levi Colwill wasn’t included in Brighton 25 man squad last season and he was on loan

I think theres at least 9 in there: Awoniyi, Wood, Yates, MGW, Elanga, CHO, Worrall, Omobamidele, Aina.

Was told that rule last week by someone who knows his stuff but hasn’t seen it in writing anywhere

Awoniyi isn’t, joined Liverpool shortly after turning 18.

Awoniyi isn't home grown. I'm not sure Chris Wood is either. If he is then no worries.

Chris Wood is 100%

23 in the Senior Squad: Turner, Tavares, Worrall, Mangala, Sangare, Williams, Kouyate, Awoniyi, MGW, Wood, CHO, Dominguez, Felipe, Niakhate, Yates, Vlachodimos, Aurier, McKenna, Origi, Danilo, Montiel, Boly, Aina

6 count as U21s: Santos, Mighten, Elanga, Omobamidele, Murillo, Aguilera

So that leaves two spots up for grabs:
One of Hennessey, Horvath, or G Shelvey for the 3rd keeper.
Then for the last spot one of Biancone, Toffolo, or Konate, or maybe even a 4th keeper from the above. My guess would be Toffolo.

And obviously Dennis, J Shelvey, Arter never to be seen again.

I'm not quite sure why the club brought Santos in. Was it maybe just in case they didn't land Dominguez and Sangare?

He's a Chelsea player and it grates.

Staggeringly we have 18 squad members called up for international duty this week.

Thats not even including some full internationals who don’t have games on and players out on loan.

Long gone are the days of Nicky Eaden, Gary Holt and Scott Dobie

Looking at that squad Santos stood more chance of a game at Chelsea than for us
