Thanks Zico great write up.
Yes match threads on here are noticeably longer when we lose and some contributors noticeably absent when we win. People just like complaining.

And now the injuries to Danilo and Aurier should hopefully have less of an impact due to the extra numbers we have in.

Great read Zico Thankyou. Great win and great to hear Joe did so well. It’s always a pleasure to win away, especially against a big spending self entitled club like Chelsea. Our new signings will be itching to get in the team, at last a bit of healthy competition for the starting 11. Really looking forward to this season, who says mid table mediocrity is boring!

Another amazing game from Forest. That's now 4 in a row I have been enthralled.
MoM for me was Yates with Worrall not far behind, I was puzzled that it was awarded to Elanga, this win was about resolute defending. I was also irritated with him when he shot rather than cross after the wizardry on the byline. Not to deter from his performance or coolness of the finish, just a demand for better decision making and teamwork at all times.
Tavares also gave me the heebie jeebies occasionally but I'll put that down to, just got off the bus, 1st game, pressure cooker situation.
Coopers tactics for these away days at big clubs, do deliver results.
After coming close to a point at Arsenal and three at Old Trafford I feel we can look forward to this season with confidence that Forest will progress as a team.
I can't believe the international break is upon us already, no football for a couple weeks.
Hopefully not all the new signings will be away and they'll have a chance to work with Cooper and their new teammates.
So proud of all the lads, COYR!

That is so good! They make it sound like they’re long suffering lowly Chelsea fans

I think you have to credit cooper so much - Chelsea’s churn of players is only comparable to our own. Yet cooper has moulded into a squad and team that is together. Contrast that with potter / Lampard / poch. It’s being used as an excuse for them.
What I am most pleased with though is the thought and succession planning that seems to be going on with our latest set of signings.
Onto yesterday - so impressed with the back 3- they were all immense.
The full backs were so disciplined too and it’s so good to see a player being self critical and wanting more (aina) I thought he had an excellent game. Tavares and montiel also came on and did their jobs well. Tavares was a bit flappy but disciplined - not something I expected.
The midfield were so good off the ball. Mangala had his best game for me in the 6 and is obviously becoming more confident at this level. Yates - enough has been said - he irritates, harasses, smothers, destroys yet his passing and positioning has improved immensely. Think we were also helped that danillo got injured enabling the excellent elanga to play the role behind Taiwo with MGW brilliantly.
MGW - not clicking for him yet but my word what a work rate.
Taiwo - hopefully not injured as he is so important for us. He took on silva and Colwill and bullied them. His pass for the goal was superb and something I didn’t feel he had in his locker when he first got here- his touch was horrendous- coaching? Confidence? Mixture of both?
The new players will have learned so much watching that too- the standards have been set.
One thing that has impressed me is that we are starting to have spells in games away where we get on top and play in 20 minute spells in each away game. We need to build and get more spells like this and perhaps sangare will be key to this.

I’m worried whether the u21 euros hangover is still with MGW he played a hell of a lot of football last season (hardly ever getting subbed) I hope he takes these 2 weeks to take some more time out, don’t wanna burn the kid out

I also think MGW will be a number 8 eventually. I am hoping that we can rest him now we have a bigger stronger squad- CHO and Christina or even santos may be able to take his role on occasions
