Thinking about Zico’s post last night.

Joe made some mistakes yesterday and has undoubtedly struggled at times this season against quality opponents as has every one of his teammates. He has been nowhere near our worst performer and has at times been very good and indeed yesterday scored his first premier league goal.

So when I read some of the comments on social media aimed directly at our club captain and a lad who has supported the club since a young boy it absolutely boils my piss.

Absolutely spot on SM. Some of the online abuse he received is disgraceful. Not so long ago, he and Boly were starting to forge a handy defensive partnership. He gets my full backing. Besides which we only have 2 match fit centre backs, so where's the sense in slaughtering either of them.

Worrall reminds me a lot of Lacelles at Newcastle, as someone has said, key in Championship but more of a backup in the prem. 

Mckenna has looked more vulnerable imo.

The chart is bollocks. Where's Bobby Mckinlay etc? It says Premier League but neithe Clough nor Joe have made anything like 200 epl appearances.

Think regular contributors know where I stand on this and yesterday (and all season so far) Joe demonstrated why I have defended him and believe he should start for us. Incredible performance. TBF even MOTD recognised the magnitude of his display. Not quite Barcelona but £2 billion Chelsea.

Hope he stays. He's had his ups and downs but genuinely cares for the club. I hope the club look after him financially with all these top foreign players coming in for no doubt top wages.
