Nottingham Forest - Sheffield United
Watched the sky sports highlights and that miscommunication between worrall and McKenna… that shouldn’t be happening prem level, it’s a good thing Joe could match the guys speed otherwise that’s a goal

McKenna was awful............terrible........a real howler of a performance.

He should never really play for us again - should be sold off - good championship defender perhaps but not anywhere near a PL defender.

Agree on the points regards MGW, need to start seeing more from him in terms of goals/assists/chances created that are not from set pieces.

Nico wasn't great again. I'm so surprised in how poor hes been for us.

If we play 3 at the back we need 6 centre backs in the squad.
We have Felipe, Niakhate, Worrall, Boly as regulars.
We are clearly going to add another.

That means one of McKenna or Biancone is 6th choice/back up. Mbe Soh to depart too.
Seeing as Biancone didn’t even make the bench I think he is the one to make way. McKenna can play left sided which gives him an advantage.
Yes he had a howler but think he reamins.

Nico's not getting starts. Difficult for the lad to get a run of performances together. He's still ypung though so plenty of time.

MGW just needs to realise when not to play the silly flicks and turns i know Thats what makes him so good but thats why hes not at the level of Foden , Bruno , Oderguard etc .
Thought Danilo played much better from deeper some of his passing was a little off but i would persist with him there as you could see what he was trying to do hes just had little game time there with a more combative 6 in there with Mangala and Danilo we could control games .

He is right sided too, quite hard playing the opposite wing

I did wonder why lowe got subbed at half time! I suppose that’s what they say about making the most of your chances, we won’t get many more miskicks by opposition defences like that this season

We all know McKenna is better than he showed last night, after his performance at Arsenal he deserved to keep his place. He certainly wasn't our worst player last night. I have to say that saying he should never play for us again  is a bit strong. We all have a bad day at the office. Probably let's Niakhate back in assuming he doesn't get injured by next week....

Talking CBs  I've seen alot of knowledgeable people commenting or writing about the outstanding performance of Joe Worrall last night. I held off on saying it until I rewatched the game. But he was superb. I'm really hopeful that the way he read danger and snuffed it out and when isolated out wide against pace he showed them the line then made some perfectly timed tackles is a continuation of end of last season (I don't count preseason as having significance).
His only mistake was probably more the fault of McKenna not getting out of way on Joe's call. I also saw his passing  tackling, heading, blocks,  interceptions, duels stats which were superb. A real captains performance. He put his body on the line for the team too. No doubt it won't be enough for some (not necessarily on here) who will be waiting for his next mistake but as Cloughie used to say "He'll do for me".

If Forest took account of the experts on here ( I include myself in this) who said that certain players should never pull on a shirt again, we would have:
Let Yates go on a free to Millwall 4 years ago
Let Worrall leave for Rangers for £500k
Sold Johnson before even playing for the team, too lightweight (Everton bid £1m for him way back in 2017 ).
Sent Awoniyi on the first plane back to Germany, cant trap a bag of cement.

Sticking to my opinion on Freuler though  :fishing:

Some plonker was on TalkSport demanding Cooper be sacked! WTF?
How do you put up with people like that if they're sitting next to you at a game?

If you go back through the match threads you will find a few on this forum who seem to be firmly of that opinion. They were probably complaining back when we were winning European cups too.

Never once heard real criticism of Cooper at a game.
