Can someone explain why our U21s seem to have been renamed the “B Team”?

I realise there is a new PL2 format but assume they are all still U21? Is there any difference?

I think the B team naming is for the EFL , second string PL team play ….

Don't know if it was actually announced anywhere but in Randall's Q&A session he confirmed the academy had retained Category 1 status for the next couple of years.
