Me neither Duncan, but whatever the club decides to do they need to sort it out, either publicly back him or replace him so we can get back to supporting the team, not wondering who will be managing it.

Agreed, NFFC shoot themselves in the foot again, we’ve been moving sideways for 20 years and learnt nothing it seems.
They could have backed Aitor already and not done so, I doubt they will do now. Therefore replacing seems most likely so I hope there is somone lined up. Regardless I suspect Gary Brazil will be in charge vs Chelsea.

I don't understand what's going on. All the speculation means Karanka is done either way, he said it himself yesterday that the players can't cope with the atmosphere and the uncertainty and that isn't going to be fixed now. The club need to tell us what the plan is, why on earth would they leave him in charge for Leeds if they don't think he's the right man anymore?

1. Reassure him that his job is safe & back him in the January transfer window.
2. Sack him now.
3. Procrastinate...
My preferred option is 1 & option 3 is the worst possible scenario.

Can they even go with option 1 now though? The relationship between management and board is publicly damaged and that means lack of harmony behind the scenes which is disastrous to a football team look at Mourinho and United this season. I think it's gone too far, I think they've made their bed prematurely and they'll have to sack him now.

it is good that AK says he wants to stay here long term, my only concern is that it seems he does need to spend and hire and fire, probably beyond the clubs resources
my main concern is the seemingly chaotic state of the amount of players signed and players still on the books, good players loaned here, many players loaned out, many who should really be getting a chance but aren't part of the squad or on loan, i'm not an expert on every player but in my head it just seems a lot more coming in than going out, also little profitability
compounding the above concern, I need to know that a manager has huge if not overwhelming influence on who gets signed, this is the real mess .. who's zooming who?
As a predominantly day 1 Karanka hater, my admiration and liking of him has (very) slowly increased, some freakishly exciting and bizarre results particularly away I really like the potential, though whatever it is, it is at this stage only potential
There was absolutely no potential or anything vaguely inspiring in those first 25 games, I hated him more every minute.
The deal breaker for me is that if AK wasn't responsible for the 3 Portugese his spending is actually very modest, but will we ever really know?
The main reason I really wanted Karanka out last season was to avoid a Dec 30 execution and we go back to old kent road, we do not pass go and we do not collect £200, I can see it would probably be a backward step at a crucial time of the season
Just trying to guage my feelings but at this moment I will feel just as upset if AK does go now as when Stuart Pearce got sacked and Warbs got sacked and it does hurt every time
Yes I hated Karankerism (shit on the academy, cheque book, revolving door, dour analytical misery, non people person) but in my mind it is the impossible poisoned chalice that is NFFC and he has given it a good go and he has improved season on season (yes 'season on season' it's a while since we could say that!)
As of now there's hoardes of players knocking around NFFC, 2 or 3 top quality additions will be enough, AK is probably best positioned, i'm hoping he knows exactly what needs to be done
having said all that, the axe has probably been swung, we will never find out what is really going on and what the plan is

So true.
Forest's £20 million net sounds a lot.
But THAT team is where we came from. I'm sure our Greek owners think they've invested a lot. But, in the scheme of the last 3 years? 'Only' about £8 million a year. 'Stand still.'
They'll need to give Aitor another Window to take us 'over the top.'
He's done well enough in the little time he's had.
(Count last year if you will, a relegation threatened sound with an emergency window to save it.)
This year? Investment takes us from top of the bottom 8 to bottom of the top 8-10.
We've by-passed most of the mid-table.
But to secure the top 6 we need another 3-4 players minimum. We're lightweight in a few areas with no match winning or changing options.
