Oops you are correct! Wayne has another year to run. Think he is decent although Im sure we will have a new No1 whichever division we are in.

Bit of a howler by Horvath v Middlesbrough to put Luton one down. otherwise he's been decent.

It’s interesting because in reality if you name 3 keepers in the 25, you can only really name 9 defenders, which is what we did in the 2nd half of the season when Dean got injured (Cook had to miss out). If we only name 2 then we can afford 10 defenders, but the issue then is we are not covered as strongly in the GK department. Because Shelvey is over 21, I can’t see us naming him and taking up a slot in the 25. I think we will sign an under 21 keeper of good quality, who wouldn’t have to be named in the 25, which would then enable us to name 10 defenders, 6 midfielders and 7 attackers.

Interesting that, I didn't realise that Shelvey (goalkeeper) was over 21.

I didn't realise Shelvey was over 21 either, I do think having a talented under 21 GK that can come in on the bench when our second keeper is playing is important, without using another squad space. For me Henderson would be my first choice if we can get it over the line. If possible i'd want a better 2nd option than Hennessey - this year we saw that he wasn't trusted to take the keeper spot for anything longer than a game, we need someone who can be trusted to step up.

Like an emergency loan?

I wonder now if Ten Hag wants to have a look at Henderson in pre-season if De Gea is leaving.
That is not good for us if he does, how long do we wait before making a move for someone else.

Sniff, i have the same thoughts throughout the whole situation with Ten Hag and De Gea. We could get royally screwed over here. The only consolation appears to be that Hendo has reportedly bought a house in the Nottingham area. You can see from his reactions in the games he didn't play for us how much he has felt part of the Forest project. Fingers crossed...

Hendo has moved very recently into his new house, and has told United he won’t be signing a new deal. There is no chance he is doing pre season at Utd. There’s more chance of Shelvey being named Club captain at Forest for the coming season ! |
