Current Players Thread
I would never sell Yates if his injury/illness is now sorted but I think £25 million is his current value
With the centre backs a choice between worrall and McKenna ?
I would keep McKenna and sell Worrall as his value is all deemed as profit as he comes from our academy
I would accept £10 million for him
Come on you mighty Reds

We don't need to be worry about pure profit from academy players just yet. I think Worrall deserves his chance to grow further. I was one of his main critics but think he's earned it. New contract for Wozza. I believe he signs it.

Within the next 2 seasons, if Brennan keeps improving the way he does, we're looking at a 80m + player. He's most likely to go for the reasons you are getting at.

I think Mckenna goes this window. He's got one year left on his contract. He needs upgrading on for me.

Agree re McKenna.
But if we are looking to improve, we need to bring in a starter, which then drops the others down a notch.
For me Mckenna is 5th choice, and therefore with 12 months on deal, I would re-coup what we can on him.

Here's my squad and where I think Forest need to strengthen.
  • Competition for Awoniyi
  • Left Wing/Inside Forward
  • Defensive Midfielder
  • Centre Back Left
  • Left Back (hopefully Lodi)

One of Tofollo or Richards, others can sort that out.

If possible, I'd be looking to strengthen the spine of the team with the classiest players we can convince to come to us.

Assuming Hendo is a done deal (which I'm delighted with) and we can get Lodi, my order of preference would be -
A top notch, ball playing CB.
An allrounder CM that is athletic and able to win the ball and carry it forwards at speed - think Danilo can do this but another would be great.
A CF to compete with Awoniyi or allow us to play 2 up top.

Outside of that, some wide attackers who are versatile would be ideal but I think we can fill that with some enthusiastic youngsters that wouldn't cost the earth. The spine I would be trying to sign 'proven' but not old....so likely very expensive!

I think we will target 2 midfielders.
Colback is gone, Shelvey will be gone, and I don’t think Freuler will stay given that he is now down the pecking order.

So I think we will sign a minimum of the following:

GK x 2 - Henderson + 1
LB - Lodi
CB - young, pacy and good enough to get into the starting 11.
2 x CM - linked with a few here - Adams, Maia, Coulibaly
1 striker - linked with a few - Che Adams, Piroe
Wide Forward - linked with a few - Silas, Hudson-Odoi

Then it depends on other outgoings.

The lesser-spotted Omar Richards has appeared in Forest's latest TikTok video. Might we actually see him play this coming season??

Richard in today's training pictures again. Can we presume that means whatever issues were behind him not playing last season have now gone away?

It'll be like a new signing.

Fully deserved.
Be interesting to see if we take the same steps with Scott McKenna who also has only 12 months on his contract. We have beeen linked with a few left sided CB’s this summer.

Fully deserved in my opinion I thought he was really good at the end of last season and he has a great mentor in Felipe.
