Staying Up

This thread may not age well but it does feel like everyone has given up a bit.

It's funny as I suspect you look at the other clubs in bottom 5 and they'll be the same.

This is very much not over, doing a few of these below seems to have 17th on around 32-34 points.

Not unreasonable to think two wins and a draw would be enough. I think we're more likely to go down than not, somewhere in the region of 25% chance to survive. That's still a reasonable though. I think we can beat Southampton and one other plus get a draw somewhere. I'm not saying we will but we definitely are capable.

It'll all change if we could just scrape one win from either of the next two games before Southampton. I'm not giving up yet, expecting a positive atmosphere tomorrow and hopefully we can sneak one.

Wassy on what basis other the being a loyal supporter of everything Forest which I applaud you for makes you think that we are not going to be relegated. Sure there is still a chance we could miss the drop but highly unlikely to get the points you mention, after all we only have amassed 3 our or the last 36 on offer and not won a game since January? Add all the injured players not available to SC and the fact that we are just not up for most games (away from home) and are the lowest goal scorers, what to you envisage is going to change?

As I said I rate our chances around 25%, Southampton at home is technically the best fixture we could possibly have so there's one possible win. Then just need to find another somewhere, I'm not saying its likely but a bit of luck, strong home support, the return to fitness of a few players it's definitely not over yet.

Just wait and see the turn of momentum if we do find a win from somewhere. The same applies for the other teams too but I'm certainly not giving up while it's still so close.

One or two wins and the outlook changes significantly. Just look at Wolves, 2 wins and most now think that they are safe.

I've just got this funny feeling we're gonna hit a bit of form like a few months back and save our arses

It’s a choice isn’t it.

You can either be negative and bang on about it to bring people down to your level for the sole reason that you can claim you were right all along OR you can choose to believe that anything is still possible.

Fair play to Wassy for it

I think we can beat Chelsea and Southampton, plus a draw or two from somewhere.

Or you can be pragmatic Username as is my view, however would like nothing more to achieve survival in the PL.

If we show the level of fight we did against Liverpool - but with better defending - then we can.

The challenge for Cooper is getting the players to do that.

Play like at Liverpool with better defending, yes great. The problem is at Premier League level, no team is absolutely useless. All the teams at the bottom have looked decent occasionally. The fact they are at the bottom shows they just dont play well consistently.

I would say the issue for Cooper is to produce a fighting yet disciplined performance for 90 minutes.

Has hardly happened at all all season.
