We are lucky to have him.
Yes very good point, if we are looking for new manager next year it surely makes the club more attractive.

I have made comments on the other thread about other clubs being run better than Forest. One of those reasons is that I have always felt some clubs have been successful by being stable and looking to the long term. EM is clearly demonstrating he can do the same and I applaud him for it.
Even they now decide Steve goes in the summer it can be looking to the future and getting the right person for the right circumstance. No more knee jerk decisions, this is the Forest I want.
Of course there are better run clubs but there are many clubs who are much worse run as well and we should remember that.
Very true. And marinakis has shown his willingness to stick with his guns rather than pull the trigger. I hope the players can play with a little less fear on Saturday and repay some of that loyalty to Cooper and marinakis

What I find most enlightening with the big man giving SC to opportunity to try and correct our position in the league and avoid relegation which is not the norm for him! Correct me if I am wrong Sniffer but it has been the usual constant sackings every season at Olympiacos and yet at Forest he has tried to support SC in his time of greatest need. Now the players and coaches need to get real and start fighting for this clubs survival, it will take a major change in the we set up to play and 110% effort from all concerned to try and make this happen, good luck!

No I don't think he will pull the plug at all.
I agree the big man doesn’t do failure, he will see it as personal and IMO won’t sell us until he has got us established in the Prem.

Yes that is something else that grinds my gears when people mention what goes on at Olympiakos.
Greek football and the Greek league is a brothel and there is no connection at all between what goes on in Greece and what goes on in England.
We share the same owner but it stops there. The two clubs are worlds apart and the two footballing cultures of Greece and the UK are worlds apart.

I've said this repeatedly that EM has been maligned as someone that is trigger happy despite not doing that here. His appointments, MoN aside have largely been sensible and decent too.
I think there's also a difference in that Oly can throw money at the problem whereas in the prem (and champ with FFP) we can't do that as everyone has money. So it makes less sense repeatedly looking for short term fixes.

I think you right there Sniffer, worlds apart and the big man has taken this important fact on board. Hope SC and the team behind him can give something back now for additional time and loyalty being afforded to them by EM.

EM just given us our first season back in the premier League after 23 years. Despite currently being in the bottom three I pray that we can retain our PL status next season. I think he deserves it, he put his money where his mouth is and once again he delivered on a promise and invested 170M in the team just like he said he would when he stood in front of thousands of adoring fans in the old market square.
He has shown remarkable faith and patience in Steve Cooper and has backed him to the hilt just like he always backs all of his managers in the transfer market, he showed the same faith and patience in Lamouchi too.
No of course he is not perfect but then again who is? But his passion is second too none, his determination and fierce drive to be a winner and to be the best there is is admirable. This is why we see a lot of chopping and changing, failure will not be tolerated, if EM gives you a job then you have to deliver it's as simple as that.
Personally I wouldn't change him for anyone. I am loving this ride he is taking us on, it's a great journey and long may it continue.
Not everyone will agree with me of course but you should be careful what you wish for. Would you like us to go back to the Irving Scholar, Mark Arthur and Fawaz days?
We were one breath from death when EM came in, now we are currently in the PL and on a solid financial footing with EM converting tens of millions of debt into equity with no fuss and no publicity, he just gets it done nice and quietly.
I think it's been a great ride and it's certainly never boring that's for sure. Fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride that EM is taken us on, embrace it, there will be some ups and downs but we have never had it this good in the last 20 years, we shouldn't lose sight of that.
No one will ever change EM, it's in his DNA to be a ruthless winner at all costs. Enjoy him for what he is, his heart is in the right place and he means well. He loves Nottingham Forest Football Club, we all do, he's one of us.
