Filippo Giraldi - Sporting Director

Giraldi was head of recruitment. The buck stops with him.

Same as the buck stops with Cooper for results.

He was Sporting Director.

It doesn't really matter though we know Cooper wanted Wood, Shelvey and Ayew. The fact that he put them immediately into his team proves that if any further proof was needed.

He was sporting director and head of recruitment, stated so on the club website.

Not doubting Cooper approved then or excusing him. I have a nasty feeling EM isn’t excusing him beyond the weekend either.

Generally the structure of a Sporting Director to Coach is that the coach will highlight the positions and type of player required and the Sporting Director will find someone within the budget that fits.

No idea if that's how it worked at Forest obviously, imagine EM acts as a psuedo Sporting Director anyway when it comes to final sign off.

You forgot about the Coach agreeing and green lighting the said players.

Yes agreed, you'd expect the coach to have a veto on any signings (*cough Dennis) Presume Cooper got that back after the summer window. Fairly clear that Cooper was keen on the Jan signings in the main. Shame he didn't have a better plan for Wood.

I think we had all hoped for much better from shelvey. Any man and his dog could see how poor wood and ayew were as signings.

It’s a learning curve though for everyone including cooper and EM. If the worst happens and we are relegated then they will have learnt a lot from this season. Won’t be the end of the world but there needs to be a plan in place for both outcomes.

He probably will for about 14 months before he's binned off.

Or gets injured straight after signing...

On a serious note why do the rangers fans hate him so much? From the little I've seen he'was at rangers when they won the SPL and when they got to the europa league final.??

Can he find us three forwards with proper pace and who can also control a football technically?
If he can, he gets my vote and it’s as simple as that.

FFS it’s something the club haven’t grasped for years….

PS
EM- here’s a tip
Buy Brentford’s scouting team
