It does seem like decent managers seem to have wisened up about taking a bottom half prem job at this point in the season. I guess why would you risk taking a relegation on your cv unless you were desperate. When you're getting turned down by Marsh you know you're in trouble.

Remeber player are crap nothing else. Just like last season, then suddenly all the crap players won promotion. But that was the all because of the new manager.

What does that mean? Are they worse because its the first game? Most of the time both teams have the first game of the season at the same time. Might have been harder! Looking for excuses…

You’ve gotta say there’s a gulf in class in Brendan Rodgers and dean smith. Whatever rub they had as premier league champions as ran out I think they’ll be doomed to be back as a championship regular

Sorry I'm not sure I understand what you're asking?

It was in reference to someone saying Palace were getting a new manager bounce. Was merely pointing out it was kind fixtures.

Dean Smith is a proper Nathan Jones style appointment. Surely they'd have been better off just keeping Rodgers till the summer?

Dean smith only till the end of the season at the moment very weird appointment I think a lot of fester fans would rather have had Rodgers until the end of the season

I reckon they'll show signs of inprovement short term.

First game for Smith away to City - maybe he can keep the score down to 5
