Yes we will need some upgrades if we stay up.
Would be some interesting choices.
New RB or stick with Aurier, go after Spence? (applies to both leagues as Spurs have Porro now) Lodi to stay? Are we going back to wingbacks in which case targetting upgrades would be necessary? Do we need another CB in that case?
In midfield, are we confident that Mangala, Danilo and Yates are good enough to develop or do we look to strengthen there. Seems to have been a weakness for us all year really.
In attack, can we keep Jonno even if we stay up. Is Taiwo good enough or do we need to upgrade? Obviously need another wide player.
Need a new keeper too.
Assuming we don't go back to wingbacks:
Keeper
RB
LB
CM
LW
Striker
Would that be enough to get to midtable? I would say yes but would also say not enough as we need strength in depth
CM needs to be a destroyer with legs like onana
Pacey LW

If we can stay up then we should be trying to sign Henderson & Lodi.
Then we need a top class CB, upgrade on Freuler, best centre forward we can afford and an upgrade on Dennis on the left hand side.
Toffolo, McKenna, Surridge, Dennis, Cook, Colback (out of contract), Lingard, Navas, Ayew can all go.

I feel like a lot would depend on whether we went back to wingbacks. Lodi is decent as an LB but less convinced as a LWB.

if we go down Henderson, Navas, Lodi, Lingard and Ayew, Colback will be off the wage bill.
Johnno will be sold.
Then we need to keep as many as possible of the rest.

Think MGW will be gone also

Why? He's on a long contract, unless he has a release clause.

Unless somebody puts 30-40m on the table he won’t be going anywhere.

Bowler might as well be one of them in the Championship.

A shadow of last seasons player apparently.
He is in a struggling team but young enough to come good again in the right set up. He must regret the day someone talked him in to having a year in Greece though.
