Wood, was an odd decision as he didn't seem to know how to use him.

Having a final veto (which is all it really should be) is not the same as choosing who to sign.

Anyway, I'm not blaming recruitment either. Just accepting it was too big a task to do in one go. Our best players have been two players that we already had from last year. Just shows you need to have more time to settle.

I'm still confident the likes of Mangala, Danilo etc will come good next year when they've had more time to acclimatise.

How about Williams over Spence.

Signing O'Brian and then not using him

Signing toffolo.

Yes we have had an horrific injury list but some of these players and decisions are just baffling.

He was the second best option to Spence from the fishing pool. Our plan was to play a 3412.

I think he probably should've stuck to this and just adjusted it to a 3421 but the change to 433 made sense at the time and was effective when Yates and Kouyate were fit.

After todays announcement i would still see cooper here if relegated:-
Only Cooper could keep MGW and Brennan here for a season in the Championship and pursuade them to fire us back up .
We have the squad too piss the league and would be hopeful we got rid of the older pros who have not really helped . Shelvey , remo , Wood , Boly ,Ayew , Serge , Kouyate and Jesse .
Would need to sign a GK thats about it as both Navas and Hendo would return to their clubs .
Every player including ones out on loan are top end Chamionship players .
Perhaps we can loan some of the players to Oly for a season (Niakhate/Fielipe/Scarpa) , we always have that option to fall back on .
Build around youth . Midfielder of yates ,mangala ,danilo and front 3 of Tiawo ,MGW and Brennan walks the Championship .

You should realise from experience that it's *never* that simple.

The ease with which Burnley are coasting to the Championship this season is the exception, certainly not the norm.

And, interestingly, with a manager new to them and new to the Championship this season.

Think we can/will keep MGW unless he kicked up a fuss which seems unlikely. Brennan will be gone though, he's the cash cow to pay the wages for the older pros listed above!
