Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager

Those Chelsea. Leicester and Spurs sackings went really well this week btw.

Exactly. Everyone thinks a new manager bounce is inevitable. It worked with Everton because you went from clueless lampard to dyche. Likewise, Gerrard being got rid of and being replaced with anyone who had an ounce of tactical ability was likely to see big improvements.

Generally if you replace an inept manager with a good one then chances are you see an improvement. If you replace with a like for like or downgrade, then chances are you won't do better.

Ultimately, any sacking now smacks of panic and desperation and would suggest no long term strategy or plan.

Signing wood and ayew smacked of panic and desperation…. No long term strategy. 

If we go down we lose Johnno and mgw and retain shit like wood. Going down will set us back years.

In short we can not afford to be relegated. EM knows this and he will act accordingly I am sure.

I'm not debating that. In fact I would say our January signings have caused far more harm than good. Okay, so we got injuries to key players, bit just as it appeared we were getting a settled side, we bring in another half dozen new faces.

I agree, it looks like a panic. But panicking again won't undo that first panic.

I have staunchly been pro Cooper but he has failed and he can’t blame the owner. Reading the article in Athletic he persuaded EM to go for broke by trying to keep us in the premier league, even at the expense of other important aspects of the Club such as maintaining cat A academy. It looks very likely now this gamble has not paid off. January transfer window was a disaster and could have long lasting harmful consequences for the club. Looks like we are going to be lumbered with Wood and Shelvey on massive wages in the championship. Felipe has been the exception. He has been our best player during this terrible run but he will be on far too high wages in the championship. Getting rid of Murphy and his approach is increasingly looking like a daft move. Controversial but I think Wood is a good player still, Cooper just used him wrong and that was his mistake. I thought he'd be a good signing and so did most, easy to speak with hindsight. Can't say I was overly keen on Shelvey but again he came with good reviews.

And yet.......Shelvey and his passing for Taiwo nearly unlocked Leeds a few times.

Players need to be managed and coached and used to their best ability.

You don't put square pegs in round holes. Cooper has a tendency to do that........and its caused us many problems.

Can we get Billy Davis back for 10 games ? Put him on zero salary but a staying up bonus of 5 million cash plus 3 year contract..........completely performance based. Relegated, get nothing and no contract.

He is seemingly getting the boot in about an hour so it won't be frozen for long. Not to sure how many would want it at the minute though and thats the issue when you sack a manager at this stage.
