Brennan being managed, he won’t start all 3 games I doubt, but i would be surprised if he doesn’t start on Sat as that is prob the most winnable.

Yeah it's not ideal timing having three games quickly when he's not fit. Going to need Dennis to step up!

Which he's looking more like he can. Certainly his performance against Newcastle suggested it anyway.

Harsh but could be a blessing in disguise. Particularly if Taiwo is fit again.
So did he irritate the injury then when he was allowed to join up with the New Zealand squad?

Crititise me all you want but Cooper's dedication to Brennan has come at a huge cost this season imo. I accept that Brennan is a huge talent but the patience he's been shown has had a detrimental effect on the others players in the squad, Dennis being the primary one. Had Dennis been given the game time Brennan has this season then we'd have a serious player on our hands now. Maybe the same with Surridge. We see flashes from Dennis to demonstrate that he has talent, but that's all he's been allowed to show. And we're so geared up as a team to feed Brennan that a decent prem player like Wood has come in and the side is completely unable to change the way it plays to accommodate his skill set.

Wood should have stayed at the club and got treatment for his injury.
There is no way he would have been allowed to travel to join up with the NZ squad and then return early if he had already been ruled out for the season.
He's obviously aggravated the injury while with NZ.
He should never been allowed to go in the first place after being ruled out of our last game against Newcastle through injury despite being ineligible.

With this news I'm convinced now we're getting relegated. Not because of the loss of Wood particularly, just the realisation that we're doomed with injuries this season.
And if Brennan is being nursed along too, then we basically have zero attacking threat now.

So we play Dennis instead and then Brennan doesn’t develop into an established PL striker. Not sure what the answer is. Thing is Dennis was meant to be PL ready and he has never looked up to it apart from a few flashes. His discipline with and without the ball we know often drives Cooper to distraction.
Surridge I agree with I dont see why we brought in two ageing lumps when we had him available.

Wages another £4m a year on top.
Yeah doesn't look the finest piece of business, particularly as Cooper didn't seem to have a plan how to use him. Ironically we changed to 4231 for the Newcastle game just after he got injured, which would've suited him much better! Maybe there was more of a plan we just didn't get to see it as too many injuries and a few poor results meant they couldn't go with it.
Ah well if we do go down Wood and Hwang would make an average front 2 with Bowler behind them.
Fixed that for you Wassy ^
In all seriousness lets not think about next years squad until it happens.

I dont know the rules Sniff but did they have a choice if NZ insisted he travelled.
I doubt a 24 hour trip on a cramped plane seat did the injury much good though.

I agree Dennis needs to up his game and demonstrate that he's up to the level but my point is we've seen many many games, particularly away games where's Brennan's influence has been such that it looks like we're playing with 10 men. Had Dennis had half as much investment that Brennan's had then he might be better placed now to come into the side and influence games. He's clearly talented. He just needs games.

sooner or later we are going to have to stop putting injuries down to bad luck and look into the treatment / conditioning of the players as surely something must not be right.
First the points and then the pints….
