*Lots* of anger about this on Twitter. Particularly around the reclassification of youth tickets.

Yep - massive hike for me and the lad. Still - what are the alternatives? IKEA on a weekend doesn’t appeal!

Honestly don’t think it’s too bad.
Less than £25 per game for me If someone wants to take their lad £35/game I know it’s a lot for some people but that’s reality. Of course cheaper per game should we be in the Championship but let’s not go there.

A fair few of them stay empty particularly for evening matches or if little Jonny wont get off his x-box. Then you have loads of punters who cant get tickets and we sell out every week. Its still only £10 for him to see a Premier League game.

I am defending the club here but I accept there are counter arguments.
One for me is that all these increases will probably generate less than £2m extra income. Thats a drop in the ocean in PL terms. 20 weeks of wages for Jesse Lingard if you like. But for some fans it is a significant hit.

Is it fair to say that our tickets were too cheap before?
Were prices not frozen for 3 years or so?

There are many people out there like me and my Dad who regularly fail to get a ticket due to the huge demand. We've been lifelong fans. My Dad is 82 and been going since he was 5. We couldnt renew our season tickets due to a few issues he had a couple of years ago and now we're excluded for many games. This is the reality of the premier league. It stinks but there are only so many seats available unfortunately. |
