I put in the other thread. For me Shelvey was the problem not Dennis.

In my opinio we need to go back to the formation and personnel that was working in early January. That means not shoehorning Wood or Shelvey into a system that doesn’t suit either.

Or tell Shelvey that it'd OK to play it simple sometimes. Every other pasd I'd an attempted Holywood pass. Very very few of which have given the ball away (albeit one time it was given straight back to Dennis to score).

I just cant help thinking that if Dennis (as frustrating as he is) had been given more of a role and Cooper not built this entire season around Johnson, then we might have been better off. We're now a hostage to fortune re Brennan's injury. If he goes out the side or plays a reduced role then you're asking the side to change it's entire approach in the final quarter of the season. Thats disastrous.

However, available for selection is not the same as fully fit. Yates (if ok), Niakhate, Dennis, Taiwo, Kouyate have either not player or barely played for a long time. Can't expect these guys to suddenly play at their top level straight away.

Bit Harsh Sniff. He does have excuses. His squad has dissolved with injuries this season. Was it 12 or somwthing at one point?  I not one of our fans who considers Cooper to be exempt from criticism but he's had zero luck of late. If we go down that will be the primary reason why imo.

I think so yes.

I also think he will stay with him if we get relegated.

If we stay up though then it might be another matter.

Sniffer, we all have time for SC and what he has achieved for our club and I see the sense in what you say. It appears that the Championship is his current level as it is obvious that he has struggled with the PL and what is demanded with the quality of players and technical standards. Like you if (or when) we get relegated I would like SC to still be in charge in an attempt to bring us straight up, maybe if this is the case he might turn into a more rounded manager/coach and be ready for the PL challenge.
Hopefully we do stay up but as every week passes this looks increasingly unlikely based on what we see in matches and looking at the performances of other relegation threaten teams.

It would be nice to start two seasons in a row with the same manager. Results are in the slide though and as with every other prem team, the threat of dropping out is a massive factor to a manager's tenure.
