Also - the game management at 45 and 90 minutes was very poor. We had chance to run down the clock on both occasions and some brain dead passing let us down. Why can’t we keep the ball a bit? Also lack of subs didn’t help. Had a chance to get some legs on - danillo for MGW or jonno would have helped massively - possibly stopping the cross for the pen.

Hopefully we get a bit of the rub of the green for some of our away games… need to stop giving away pens - that’s 3 against in last 3 games!
I don't think we have been unlucky Ozzy. These last few games we have got what we deserve in my opinion.

Ozzy, we were lucky. They hit the bar, what, 3 times? They had a perfectly good goal chalked off by the var ref and our goal was a as a result of a poor backpass. Without any luck it was a 0-4 game.

We've struggled of late to retain the ball. Its like a hot potato when we're in possession. Probably the worse side in the league for this. Re the subs, I always think Surridge is cool on the ball and can take it and pass it forward when he comes on.

I was just thinking exactly the same thing Pap.
The bottom line is that we just aren't showing fluidity in our play. We win the ball then lose it again almost straight away. We get into a good position just outside of the opposition box and lo and behold, the ball ends up back with one of our CB's deep in our own half or with Navas. That wasn't just last night. It's every game we play, home or away.
Opponents have worked us out from an early age and set up a high press to work our defence into making errors due to the back line tippy tappy stuff we do week in week out before the inevitable long punt forward, lose the ball and here we go again! We dont press opponents anywhere near enough to force errors. Last night we did force an error because we did press and we scored! It proves it can be done!
It depresses me to watch week in, week out every other team we play knocking the ball about with quick one touch passes to a team mate. Watching our midfield sliced apart time and time again with slick forward passing to moving players, knocking the ball about on the edge of our area, finding a space, whilst our lads are running around like headless chickens chasing shadows. I want to see us giving opponents a real run around. Play the exciting attacking football that Forest are renowned for. I dont want to watch us hanging on for dear life week after week or getting a battering away from home. But i just can't see that happening. I can't put my finger on what exactly is wrong. On paper most of our squad players are decent acquisitions. In reality, a lot dont look up to the task.

Are they that decent though? Who of the team that played last night would get in other sides at this level or above?
Our best two players this year have been players from our academy.

Exactly Wassy. We overrate our squad. We bought quantity over quality.
Some worked out well eg Aurier. A few would get in lower mid table squads, Navas Felipe Lodi Yates
MGW and Johnson maybe some upper mid table sides, neither are top 6 ( those saying MGW should be in England squad are deluding themselves)
The rest sadly are if not relegation fodder are always going to be struggling.
What we had last year was a settled first choice 12-15 players and with it a team spirit we havent seen here in a long time.
When-you bring in 25 new payers that is going to take time to rebuild. My opinion the January incomings largely did for what Cooper was building. Yes I know we needed some due to injuries but that level of squad churn is unhelpful.

I did say on paper they are decent, then added that in reality a lot aren't up to the task!

What gets me is the fact that most on here seem to know what the problems are and have ideas how we could address the issues to make us a better side, however SC and the coaching staff continue with the same tired old stuff. We have no pattern of play, lack tactical substitutions, seem to set up the same home and away by letting the opposition play the game in our half from the first blow of the ref's whistle!!!!!! It was so annoying watching MOTD last night and seeing the other relegation threatened clubs putting up some fight, mostly on the front foot and going for the points the exact opposite of the current Forest set-up. Tick-tock the clock is ticking and we are fast running out of games to address the problem, however I have since lost my faith in SC and the current bunch of players to change and am resigned to Championship football next season!

That old chestnut. Blame recruitment again.
How about the manager and coaching staff, are they all excused from criticism.

We have a left back who's played for PSG and Spurs, a right back who plays for Brazil, a centre back who's played for Atletico and a keeper who's played for Real Madrid and PSG. Dont tell me we dont have decent players.

Think you got the full backs the wrong way round Pap but yes you are right.
I don't buy this we don't have any player's who would get in another PL team rubbish.
Navas and Henderson get into many PL teams. Aurier would get in a few squads, Newcastle want Lodi and will probably sign him in the summer, Felipe would get into some teams and Wolves tried to sign him in January, some were saying that Yates could replace Henderson at Liverpool not long ago. MGW is on the verge of the England squad and Manchester City are interested in signing Johnson. I could go on...
