So how come the best dead ball specialist we have cant get in the team?

If I was Scarpa I would be banging on Cooper's door Monday morning.

How are Lingard and Dennis getting picked ahead of him?

Agreed.......that Lingard and Dennis are in the squad and Scarpa not, is a disgrace.

I didn't want to use the word disgrace although I was very tempted but I agree with you.

I have no idea what Cooper is thinking about I really don't. Very very frustrating.

Dennis for all his faults plays a different position.

I presume it's just that he's had a long season and wanted to give him a bit of a break. International break seems a good chance to bring him back in.

I don’t about anyone else but to meet he did look a bit off the pace personally.

This is annoying me now, everyone is going on as if Scarpa is Neymar or something. We've yet to see any evidence he is remotely up to this level. He's done nothing to show this set piece ability or really contribute. He looked off the pace quickly in every appearance which isn't a surprise as he's had a full season and the Premier league is famously a really tough pace.

I get the others aren't doing anything either but that doesn't mean he'd be way better. Steve is obviously seeing he's not doing it in training right now.

Agreed Wassy. Every player that isnt picked suddenly is a world beater.

That is a fair comment and I cant argue.

Just that we need a clearly need a different approach to get any kind of result away at the moment.

Scarpa has a proven pedigree in a top league so in my view should get a decent chance, certainly above some that have shown they definitely dont have the needed quality. Sorry I know some like the lad but Im thinking Mangala for one. And Lingard has had too many chances now.

Surely Scarpa is only really going to contribute much in a central role though? So are you moving MGW out wide? As mentioned on another thread we're not teaming with decent wide players right now sadly.

Nobody is saying Scarpa is a world beater lets keep it real.

But could he possibly offer less than Dennis, Lingard and MGW are offering?

We are talking about the bloke with the most goal assists in the whole of Brazil.

How many have Lingard, Dennis and MGW got between them?

I wouldn't blame Scarpa if he wanted out seeing the likes of Lingard and Dennis in the squad ahead of him.

He can play wide although I agree he is mainly used as a 10 and we shouldn’t move MGW. Just think we are crying out for some quality.

Think we lack pace above all else but Johnson apart we dont have it.

Yeah not replying Dennis in January was a big mistake. Then again can't just sign pace for pace sake. Otherwise you get Diakhaby.

It must be driving Scarpa barmy watching the likes of Dennis.

Maybe Scarpa just isnt putting it in in training and is struggling to come to terms with a british winter tagged onto the end of a Brazilian season. We've got to trust that Cooper's getting those calls right as we have zero info about the private goings-on at the club.

Must make it even harder when he's not playing.
