He said exactly the same thing after the Man Utd league game on 27th Dec.
He played the full 90 mins 4 days later against Chelsea.
And then said we always knew he would be back !

So after last night's deadline day moves, got another name to add to the injury list...welcome Jonjo!

Expected return dates based off vague Cooper predictions:
Henderson - Early March
Richards - March-Apr, likely not in squad
Niakhate - Mid-March
Kouyate - April maybe.
Shelvey - Late Feb
MGW - A little while, so Sunday?!
Biancone - Next season
Awoniyi - March?
Yates - unknown

Plus a sick bug ruling out a few others by the sounds of it, Cooper mentioned Wood and Colback which could affect Wood for Saturday.

That all sound about right? Team will be stacked in March!

That's a rumour I've seen mentioned too.

Well he's not been training for Newcastle so even if he is fit he will still need a few weeks to get up to speed. Plus the fact he's barely played this year so match fitness will take another 5-10 games. We've seen tons of examples of that with the guys we've brought in too.

He has been training- he’s even had a session here on monday after signing

Yeah I mean he hasn't been training with Newcastle until very recently. Will take him time to rebuild fitness.

Lingard injured in the warm-up. Unbelievable.

If we do manage to stay up I'd imagine Marinakis will be taking a good look at the injury situation. I know some are just plain bad luck but there must be something we can do to reduce the numbers we've suffered.

We did recently splash 2m on new pitches

It's a combination of bad luck and players signing that were either already injured or hadn't played much in the previous year and so weren't fully fit.

Hopefully a combination of earlier signings and less of them so a full pre season should help. Some younger players too always helps.
