Well we are not a great team yet so that doesn't really come into it and Hennessey is not a crap goalkeeper so we will compete.

What are you basing that on though? He's barely played for 3 years and the games I've watched I didn't think he looked great.

I agree Sniff- but if it’s a long term injury to hendo, I do think the club/EM will look at getting a better replacement if one is available. As I said, I can name 150 million reasons why. It’s just too important.

If Horvarth can be brought back I would definitely do it and probably he would be first pick on account of getting regular game time this year. He isn’t Henderson class and I have a few worries but he would do a job, think his last full game was the Liverpool cup game? He did very well in that from what I remember.
Edit if memory serves he was playing well enough to keep Samba out for a few games. Then went on international duty so Samba took his place again which was a bit tough on him. Let's be clear here, regardless of our very brief viewings, Hennessey is a top keeper with bundles of Premier League experience. Grimsby (I know) and Spurs he was faultless. ManU he dropped one clanger, but actually kept the score down. The sh1t show at Blackpool was not on him. Here's the thing, Burnleys recent management team have a brilliant track record in spotting Centrebacks and keepers. Last season Hennessey was taken on as back up to Pope. They trusted him, should Pope be out and spoke extremely highly of him. Going so far as to say (last night) We've (Forest) got nothing to worry about with Hennessey he's a top keeper and great pro. Granted that management team no longer at Burnley, but I don't see that having changed in 8-10 months since they left. On the contrary I've seen a keeper with great reflexes, good kicking, good in air and one mistake in 4 games. Our issue isn't Hennessey, our issue is if Hennessey now gets injured. Will Horvath come back to sit on bench? And please, don't try and say he is a better option than Hennessey. Edit: Why is it that some fans (more so on social media than here) always pick fault and want doom and gloom. Jonno Yates Worrall not good enough for Prem....yeah righto. Can we send Lodi back? ...Anyone still think that? Colvack finished.....didn't look that way in last 2 games. The positivity at the club and in the grounds really have been our "12th man" (hate that phrase but here it fits). Of course we all get annoyed when we lose, especially if it's a completely spineless inept display as per Hughton era, but things are so different now. Those bad days at the office are few and far between, we may lose to a better side or not win a game we should on balance of play (Chelsea), but we are exactly where any happy clappers or negative person would have hoped to be at half way point, even more so after the way first 8 games panned out. I could be wrong Hennessey may be a disaster (I doubt that) but the judgment and writing him off before a potential run of games is just an own goal. Another rant over.

Off topic now but think it was Tyler Walker who we had out on loan and had a recall option in January but we missed the cut off date. No idea when that date is.

Disagree on Horvath, sorry. But then, football is about opinions as they say. And horvath didn’t really keep samba out the team on ability- he was used to make a point to samba after one of his ‘episodes’. To suggest horvath is better than Hennessy is plain daft. To suggest EM should gamble premiership status on him after a generation of waiting is utter lunacy lol

I wasn't suggesting that he was a crap keeper, it was a general observation. TBH I thought he was very good against spurs also

I think you could also say the same about a 35 year old career backup who has not played for 3 years. (I wouldn't want Horvath either!) Short term loan until Henderson is fit perhaps? |
