Only saving grace is it's the first match so if it's not *too* bad then he has some time to recover.

Apparantly it’s an injury to his private parts. As De Jong was falling he grabbed onto his privates and that’s where the injury came from.

What a great day out in Doha. I managed to get in before the ticket fiasco, thankfully.
Great weather, fantastic hospitality, all the dickheads have stayed at home. In some ways this World Cup is better than others.

I am no physio but I'm calling hamstring and probably more of a tear than a strain which is not good news.

Well what a 24 hrs or so that's been!
After attending opening ceremony in desert (blagged our way into hospitality) to watch a Sunday league side lose to Ecuador, it was all about England Iran. Met 2 England legends yesterday, David Beckham and then our very own Psycho. Cracking game in a decent stadium, hotels nearby happy to serve beer, though quite pricey. Shout out to Iranian fans who were there in numbers. Spoke to a few who said they planned to use their only opportunity on world stage to protest against the horrific events taking place in their Country, very humbling.Shame FIFA cameras (feed on big screens in stadium) didn't have the bottle to broadcast their huge Iran flag with "Women...Life...Freedom" on it. I am not a fan of mixing Football with politics generally, but there stories are another level that actually made me fill up. I would boo my national anthem too if I had a regime treating me this way. England fans not filmed applauding the Iranian players who stayed silent through said anthem too. Anyway I digress... Comfortable win for a motivated England team against an Iranian side who didn't seem to want to be there in current circumstances. Our defence looks ropey but going forward we look to have goals. Our seats were in Iran end, so after 10 mins, we moved around to main England bit where it was standing room only...loads of people had been allowed in without tickets due to system crashing!! The crappy (and REALLY loud) goal music was a bit naff, but hearing it 6 times took me back to final whistle at Wembley..-due to song vhoice of freed from desire. Song of the day to tune of super Benny Watson...on a free from Watford...never gives the ball away..was "England fan's in Doha...woah....drinking Coca-Cola...woah...England's going all the way....1234.....woah....England fans in Doha...woah....drinking Coca-Cola...etc.." Got interviewed on way in by Argentinian TV, who looked a bit confused when I answered a question about Messi saying "He's no Ryan Yates.." my sun hat - Forest bucket hat - drawing alot of attention. Bumped into other Forest fans in The Red Lion later whilst watching the Fforest (formerly known as Wales) game. Great night, went to bed 7am. Heading off to fan zone soon for todays games. I really should be on laptop doing some actual work! Maybe tomorrow....
