Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager

Yes we have to stick until the World Cup break then re assess I think we will get 2 draws or maybe 1 win 1 loss
And if the worst things happen it has to be Dyche for me

Reds73, 2 or 3 wins away from home? We've scored 1 goal away all season and conceded 19. I think there's more chance that we will lose every single away game than achieve 2 or 3 wins. And 5 or 6 home wins from 13 games? With our current record that would be an astonishing feat.

This is the time now for me. Marinakis is going to have to decide if he sticks with Cooper and goes down, or rolls the dice and see if a new face can get a better tune out of this set of players. Cooper's not keeping us up. We can sing and encourage from the stands but the facts are this team isnt good enough atm.

The away form is a real issue and there needs to be a big change of process.
Re the home form, we have won 2 from 6, so from a stats perspective, getting 7 home wins is only following the current form.

Interesting but think we might be reading too much into that ^. Wouldnt be surprised if Biancone is lining up a loan move for January.

To be honest about the only name who might have a chance of keeping us up and doesn’t fill me with dread for the long term is Dyche.

It almost feels like he has been waiting for us too but he isnt going to stay unemployed forever. I really hope Cooper stays but if we are going to pull the trigger it has to be as soon as possible after the Palace game.

I've thought for a while now that Roberto Martinez might be a good shout as a manager. He's out of contract after the WC and might fancy having another crack at the premier league. I believe Henry is his assistant at Belgium. He'd be a brilliant appointment imo but I do doubt though that we'd be big enough to tempt him, eseopcially as we're odds on to go down now.

Dyche probably would do the same thing but he might do it better and more effectively.

There seemed a shocking amount of commitment and fight yesterday which for me is more worrying I dare say that we even threw the towel in.

Yes I know Arsenal were very good but that doesn't excuse some of the things that went on on that pitch yesterday.

I am not buying the Cooper should stay because he is the best man to get us back up either.

We are only 3 points off safety and there should be no thought of going back down again and thinking who is the best man to get us back up again. With that mentality we might as well wrap up now.

Thankfully the likes of Dyche won't allow any of that kind of talk to creep in if he were to take on the job.

Cooper has done a brilliant job to take Forest from the bottom of the championship to promotion. We did it with  a team built around loan players. The squad of permanent players had struggled for the previous 18 months. More than 50% of teams getting promoted to the premier league get relegated the following season. This percentage of failure is increasing. We have had to assemble a completely new squad in a few weeks in the summer. It was always going to be a massive struggle to survive and our deficiencies would get highlighted in the early weeks of the season as we seemed to gel a completely new team. We took a step backwards yesterday against the team at the top of the table who have won every match at home this season but we had prior this started to pick up some points. We are three points from forth from bottom. The league is congested and two victories would move any team up a number of places. I also don’t believe it is inevitable we will get relegated. The odds are against and would be whoever the manager is but it isn’t impossible. The World Cup will also disrupt this season like no other and could cause some odd results.If we sack Cooper I suspect one of our rivals such as Wolves and Southampton would appoint him. Both seem to be waiting for something. In my opinion it is unlikely we will get a better manager. Please don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

Martinez who failed and was relegated with Wigan as well as being sacked by Everton. Henry has had two coaching jobs, sacked by Monsco then managed in the US (according to wiki).
