The Premier League 2022/23
Glad West Ham beat Bournemouth last night because lets face it West Ham are not relegation candidates despite their poor start to the season. Bournemouth however despite a good start are definitely candidates in my opinion.

I hope at the end of the season we dont regret some of our early season 6 pointers vs other teams at the bottom. Had we not had our brain fart vs Bournemouth we would currently be 16th on 12 points and they would be 17th with 10.

All to play for. Not expecting much against arsenal but two big games after that before break - take 4 or 6 points and things start to look rosier. Hopefully the side can show that the Liverpool performance was no fluke.

I do worry about it being another false dawn. That Liverpool team was definitely weak, especially in midfield, really can't get carried away despite it being a fantastic result! Fingers crossed and we start to establish ourselves!

I think this result will of given the squad a shot of confidence and they will hopefully regain some belief and confidence which will enable us to kick on to the next level
Come on you mighty Reds

Another false dawn? Has there been one before? I'd say we've been poor since the start of the season and up until the Wolves games the performace levels have been getting worse. But re the Liverpool game, regardless of the merits of the opposition, the performance from our players was much improved and you can see that they are getting better week on week now. We're not out of the woods, but you can see that our new level of organisation is allowing the talent of the players to become evident as their confidence improves. We may still go down but if we do hopefully we wont be the league's embarrassment team, which I thought we looked like.

I know it hurts doesn't it, had we just switched to 433 a few games earlier maybe we'd be looking much more secure.

Still on the plus side we were relegated and adrift before last weekend, so it's exciting to suddenly be back in it!

If we'd lost on Saturday we'd now be 5 points adrift with a trip to Arsenal to come.

Yeah exactly, yet now we're within touching distance with two winnable home games to come. It's an interesting way to look at these games vs the top 6 sides, rather than just a painful experience it's much more of a free hit and a chance to make a move against the rest of the field. Lets treat the Arsenal game the same and go for another sneaky 1-0 or 2-1.

They're a free hit as long as there's no residual damage, like taking a drubbing and then having to cope with a loss of confidence, in the players, the club and the fans.

But in terms of points the Arsenal game is free as I'm sure we all would've taken 3 points from Liverpool and Arsenal.

I consider the excitement of all the signings we made during the summer as a false dawn as was the win again Wet Spam and draw with Everton. Before a bit of reality hit....
