I think we all know he's got the talent to be England manager but the country wouldn't accept him yet. The media would want Howe or Potter or a top foreign manager in preference to Cooper. Or Brendon Rogers perhaps, who will be available tomorrow.

Thought Cooper had a realistic chance of Wales if he wanted it. There is something odd about all this how much he loves the club but wont commit. There is more to it on both sides you suspect.

Another completely unsubstantiated theory - Was Cooper quietly sounded out by Wales in case Rob Page didn't/wouldn't sign his contract?

Steve Cooper apparently struggles a bit with player's who already have a biggish name in the game and who have already achieved things in their careers. (I repeat apparently).

He can't be the England manager and be picking only young kids and people who he knows and has worked with before.

Anyway the bloke has not even proved himself at PL level yet.

If people are accusing that then that's pathetic. How does any young coach get ahead and up to the top of the game if that's going to be thrown at them. The top jobs would be full of your Rooney's, Gerrards and Lampards and the Mourinho's of the world wouldn't exist.

I reckon any job that becomes available in the premier league would interest a lot of coaches all over europe. And a lot of those would be more talented than Wilder.

Yep the club's MO this season is to attempt to attract serious talent. Lingard and Henderson are two examples of personnel being acquired who are above the level normally assumed of a newly promoted club. Why would the club's next coach appointment be any different?

Sorry this is just tittle tattle, I will stop short of calling it complete BS. If that was the case he wouldnt pick Lingard and you have said yourself he was on board with the decision to bring him here.

Well he can't play the youth team SM. He has to pick some 'big name players' if that is the right description. It was just something that I heard so don't shoot the messenger.
