Stevie Cooper
I am pro-Cooper and respect all opinions. For me, from the start of the season, this is all about finishing 17th or higher.

This said, it really feels like the uncertainty needs to be sorted now. As a club & fan base we all now it is imperative we are pulling together. The uncertainty is not helpful.

We are only 2 points from 17th so there are reasons to be hopeful but it does feel like this is a crucial crossroads in the season.

As a fanbase we are the 12th player and need to play our part. This could be helped by a clear message from the board and SC. Take the time to resolve whatever is going on and draw a line. Do not let it fester, it will not end well.

He's typically the type of manager we'd get if Cooper was sacked. No thanks, I'll stick with the guy we've got.

Exactly this.

Weren’t we told that Montanier had a superb record, got a team into Europe you know. So did Lamouchi. Aitor Karanka, no2 at Real Madrid he must be amazing.

Some people will never learn. Careful what you wish for.

Either way, it will not reflect well on the board or club if Cooper is forced out for whatever reason in whatever form.

I also find it interesting that some people are unhappy that Cooper would be interested in other roles (based on no information at all) due to I assume a perceived lack of loyalty. Yet the same people are now suggesting he may be out of his depth/is not going to cut it.

He is not being forced out.

He has a new contract on the table that remains unsigned and the performances and results speak for themselves.

Obviously, I don't know why he's not signing the new contract, i would suggest the issue if not resolved is akin to forcing him out.

Also, if hes sacked then he'll definitely be forced out!

Out of interest Wassy if we lost the next 10 games would you stick?

I would keep him regardless, assuming whatever is the issue can be repaired. I think he's the ideal person if we went down and generally when teams change manager from someone that has done well they rarely upgrade (I know there are exceptions).

However, I would imagine I'm in a minority there and due to the short term viewpoint that a lot of people take the atmosphere would be pretty bad by that point, which would make it pretty difficult to turn it around.

Ideally we don't lose the next 10 games.

Why are we even having these conversations he is the best manager we have had in 20 years and nearly all our squad is built for him let’s get 100 % behind him end of discussion I rest my case

That is not difficult to achieve and it doesn't make Cooper the next Brain Clough. He has been with us for just 12 months. I love Cooper and I don't want him to leave but I can't honestly say that he is a great manager, not yet anyway. Swansea fans don't seem to think he is. He got a club promoted (us) from the Championship just like Karanka, Warnock, Megson, Mcarthy and Hughton etc have previously done.

He demonstrated last season that he's tactically intelligent and he can make players perform better than their level. That makes him a good manager.

Cooper is doing a good impression of Warburton with his do plan a better impression. The football he plays is expansive and brave - leaving men ahead of the ball is not something many teams (especially bottom half teams ) do. His go to formation at Swans was 4231 and his alternative here was 4231. I think it suits the players more too. I hope he gets time to sort this out as I have a nagging worry that Dyche is lined up already. He may keep us up but god his football is awful…

Nobody has said he is the next Clough. Doesnt mean he isnt our best manager for 25 (not 20) years.
None of the names listed above achieved what Cooper did last season.
The club should be trying very very hard to hang on to him. Surely Forest more than any club in the country should have learned finding a good manager who is a good fit is extremely difficult.

Don’t shoot the messenger here.
I have been told that Cooper wants someone out of the club and won’t put pen to paper until the individual is gone.
I have no further info and what I have been told may be bollocks.
Just throwing it out there.

Could be true. The Athletic article implied that he'd lost trust in whoever leaked news of his contract negotiations.
