Nottingham Forest - Bournemouth

Just got back from the game and starting to recover.

For me the main issue is the formation, the lack of a true centre forward seems to be part of the issue but the main thing was that in the second half we were run over in centre midfield. This has been a common theme so far in all our games. 

I just don't think this formation with three forwards is going to cut it at this level unless we had a Kante style player in DM which we appear not to.

I think either you drop one of the front three for an extra CM or you abandon 3 CBs and switch to 4231 (as was suggested above) This feels like the best option in terms of keeping Brennan, MGW and Lingard in the team, doesn't feel like it'll work otherwise.

Further unrelated comment, I agree Brennan didn't have a great game today but why is he the scapegoat of the two forwards? He continues to get shots in (and has scored twice this season) Has MGW even had a shot on goal? I think he looks a decent player but not sure why he's seemingly safe from criticism while everyone thinks Brennan has to be dropped for Dennis. Who by the way, looks pretty average from what I've seen so far.

Confidence must be rock bottom and a win over Leeds will have us all on the up again. I’m desperate for us to do well and all of us will be shouting them on next game. Hopefully a 9 day break will be used to full effect and we will come out punching above our weight.

We are all disappointed and rightly so. But I still support coops, he was the one who got us here with an over performing squad. This is a great point. We have had 3 games in a week so a chance to reset and refresh could be just what the doctor ordered.

Not sure I agree with the comments about formations  tactics and selection today. 

For me so much sloppiness on the ball. Passes which weren't sharp enough or a touch behind the player. Not getting up after not getting freekicks off ref, underhitting back passes (even before the massive Rrick for the winner), taking too many touches before playing the obvious pass. It's what the coaches call "attention to detail" because all those little things add up to a poor performance.

Usual scapegoats are being targeted, yet only one of our centrebacks did his job today. Plus only one centre midfielder continued to disrupt and put zip on his passes. Pretty sure Kouyate isn't match fit tbf  but aside from being big (cracking header) a yard or 2 off the pace throughout.

We were pretty awful 1st half, yet were 2-0 up. Second half we were even worse.

Cooper will expect better. McKenna and Worrall did passable impressions of Figs from this time last season.  Harsh, but we all know they are both much better than their current form.

It's not going to be easy, but I know we won't get better than Cooper.

As for a few people booing at the end - the mind boggles. 23 years of mostly sh1te in the divisions below this one and 3 home games into prem they think its OK to boo. I'm not suggesting a standing ovation after that but seriously.

I can only guess that many of those booing are from the extra 6k we have gained since we played Bournemouth just over a year ago and don't realise most of their team have been together much longer and credit has to go to Bournemouth who seem to have our number over last 13 months.

Yes we need to do better and I am sure we will.

Just watched it on MOTD again. 

First goal was brutally hit. I know it's the Prem but that's three wonder goals against us now.

Mckenna's error looked even worse on replay, so so bad. What was he thinking!?

Taiwo's miss was even worse than I realised. Basically an open goal.

Agree with the bit about Kouyate, apparently you score a goal and suddenly you're amazing. Thought he was too slow as well and there were loads of gaps in the centre.

Johnson was woeful again. He is a passenger in the Premier League - should be dropped.

Worrall needs to be dropped, far too many mistakes.

Bournemouth sold Cook as he is not good enough for the PL....and now we are using him in the PL.........drop him.

McKenna, should be dropped as punishment for rank stupidity........if under pressure, put the ferking ball out of play, dont try to pass it.

I think he is trying to protect last seasons players....I mean, why start with LOB and Freuler against City........yes it easy to then say we lost so they lose their places........and so back comes Yates and all the others. Poor management. Play your best side......stop protecting last seasons players. Johnson is another one........not offering anything, get him on from the bench late in the game.

Its time for some big changes - Copper does indeed need to look at himself and what he is doing.

If we lose the next 2 - Cooper will be sacked. He needs to concentrate on winning and using the squad, not keeping last seasons boys happy.

First time yesterday that the team selection and substitutes baffled me - Coopers allowed a few more mistakes then others but we need improvement and points fast, felt like we`d gone backwards yesterday.

I think a big problem is cooper doesn't yet know his best side. Last season it was easy as we didn't really have many options, now with all the  new signings, I think he's struggling to know his best xi

Why is he going to be sacked if we lose the next two sorry? Why are people so desperate to change manager every 30 seconds. Ffs what are you expecting to happen instead? You know who'd be a good appointment? Steve Cooper.

Worrall didn't make any mistakes in that game but ok. What did the other attacking players do that Brennan didn't?
