This should be good for Oly in the long run, if we are successful we can return the favour and give them top young players on loan. The prem is just a much bigger league surely that is fairly obvious.

And I think that sums why the established clubs' fans that have turned on us.

Since we starting spending the mood has changed from the slightly patronising, "Ah, it's great Forest are back, brilliant to see a proper team back in the Prem" to "Who do they think they are?", "Such an arrogant set of supporters" and "I can't wait for them to go back where they belong."

Some fans seem to genuinely hate us suddenly.

Of course, the signings have been necessities and Marinakis wants us to be more than just a team that stays up, but our summer has rocked the boat and challenged the hallowed Premier League status quo. And they don't like it.

We're a threat to the established teams and they didn't see it coming. It's easy for opposition fans and some of the press to label this summer as "doing a Fulham". But if what we've done works and other promoted teams try to replicate what we've done I think it represents a shift in things and that's a threat to other teams, their position and their money.

I think it will work and that means someone else has to be relegated.

But "know your place" and "stay in your lane" wound me up and I can't wait for the season ahead and us upsetting a lot more opposition fans.

Just remind them to keep the outside lane free for overtaking.

PAOK fans have started calling them the Nottingham B team.

Try telling them that. I heard and read some right vitriol yesterday.

I saw a video regarding Forest saying we are following the "Moneyball" example data, data and more data coupled with a coach that will not change the way we played in the Championship. He also pointed out the fact that only Brentford are the only club adopting this method in the Premiership.

If some opposition fans saw it, it would start to make sense of the method we are using.

Thats a bit naive tbh Wassy. They are owned by a Greek and a lifelong Oly fan, one of their own. Said lifelong fan has in their eyes had his head turned, spending money on some foreign club whilst Oly is going backwards. But they may get our cast offs, probably send them Cafu back.
To be fair in their place we wouldn’t be happy about it at all.

Moneyball is about exploiting the system in different ways. Brentford have done it using data to identify talent and selling on for maximum profit. Then removing inefficiencies from the club like having an academy. Most PL clubs including Forest wouldn’t want to behave in quite such an extreme way.
I think all we are dong is just being a bit smarter with our recruitment which is what most clubs do (Man U being the hilarious exception), it took us quite a long time to get there though.

I was just stating the fact, in the long run if we are successful it will definitely benefit Oly. It's not like they're competing with the top English clubs. Having a string of Forest academy players taking them far in the Europa League sounds like a pretty good long term model.

That said the last player we gave them was Carvalho so I can see how right now it doesn't look great!

I believe they will come to appreciate the situation in the long but I understand they're frustration in the short term. Maybe we should throw them some players to keep them sweet. If we get a striker could send them Surridge and Mighten.

I saw that too, it was interesting.

He praised Dane for his sterling work too.  :fishing:

Think we will do these quite comfortably. Don't see much to write home about. West Ham should have got something against Forest, good goal chalked off, hit the underside of the bar twice and missed a penalty. One of those days for West Ham and Forest riding their luck somewhat.

Forest are bad. Should’ve been beaten by west ham by 3 clear goals. Inches away from that happening but instead they fluked a win. Have to be winning this but given our current forward options, we’ll be lucky to score a goal unless it’s off a set piece. I’ll go for a 1-0 jammy win but we’re really making this harder on ourselves than it needs to be.

They should of got battered by West Ham if it wasn’t for dodgy refereeing, crap penalties etc. think they didn’t even have a shot against Newcastle.

We are no great shakes but these are absolute muck. Really should be looking at 3 points here.

MGW mugging Gordon right off, the superior talent really" "Who’s this Gibbs -white kid, Looks pretty good.We could use someone like him.

Drawing at home to Forest is pathetic ffs.

Not even sure what to say after that. I’m glad we got the point but we were more than capable of getting the 3. Forest are crap but so are we.

Very disappointed with how scummy the Forest fans were. I, like most have welcomed Forest being back in the Prem, but their fans were gobshites the entire game. Singing crap that only lower league teams sing. Embarrassing.

Forest look like a team who are bedding in 67 new signings…it’s a game we need to be winning and we never really looked likely to. A long season awaits.

One random thought - dodged a bullet with that Lingard lad. Barely knew he was playing. A big wage collector.

A draw at home to these is a very bad result. They were rubbish but we were no better

Wonder what the "lower league chanting" was they were referring to?

Another example of premier league fans mentality

We definitely did Sign On which to be honest is as embarrassing as when Scabs is shouted at us. Should have left that in 1985. I hope we didnt do Always the victims but wouldn't surprise me if we did.
Zico mentioned some behaviour wast the best too.
