West Ham fans comments:
Biggest bunch of time wasting c****. Get back down to the EFL please.
Coufal, Soucek and Rice the worst players on the park today
we've been unlucky, hit the bar twice, missed a penalty and should have been 1-0 up with the team he started with.
Questionable disallowed goal, missed penalty, and twice hit the underside of the cross bar, so its not like we were crap.
Henderson took 17 seconds to release that ball. The earlier booking was a joke
We absolutely battered them second half. If Rice could take a penalty we'd have probably won.
They barely had a shot, 65% possession, and more than twice as many passes and passes completed than them (these are the stats people were using to say how bad we were against City.)
With a bit of luck this is 2-1 and Forest fans are slagging off Cooper for sitting back second half.
Don’t quite get the critisim of the performance. We have absolutely battered them. Two almost I’m off the crossbar. A penalty saved and a goal line clearance.we have destroyed them in this half.
Irrespective of who was good and who was bad, etc, we actually did enough to win that just didn't have the luck on our side.
Disallowed goal was a travesty and on another day one of those cross-bars goes in. Couple of other moments, clearance off the line, weak penalty etc just didn't feel like it was ever gonna be our day.
Forest are not yet a team, they were terrible. But we still couldn't break them down. Very worrying
I had a soft spot for Forrest as my late cousin supported em, but that’s gone now. Snide little slags
We had enough chances to win two games
we never won a second ball all game, looked slow all game, had no guile or creativity all game, played hit and hope all game but apart from that....
We're going down
I'm sure it's just the heat or something...that didn't affect forest in the slightest
It wasn't our day. It was the Forest fairytale. Fair play to them
Losing to a team managed by the Buscemi brother they keep in the attic. Hopefully he at least admits it all went in their favour today.
Forest offered little except endeavour, but we were wide open all match.
Fair result, we didn't play well enough, they deserved this and I doubt they will have an easier game this season
On any other day Forest get well beat and that's with us not performing well.
Forest win with a lucky deflection we ****ed up the pen hit the bar twice and a ball off the line. I have no doubt Forest will finish bottom 5 and we will finish top half.
I would be worried if i was Forrest. They were dreadful and very very lucky. There striker who scored was very clumsy and doesn't look up to scratch to me. Lingaard was anonymous. They won't stay lucky every week
Fair play to Henderson in goal by the way, he won them that game single handedly, another sound bit of transfer business from the red Mancs..
The speed with which he got up from the shot off the bar to save Soucek's (poor) header was a turning point in the game.
At least Lingard was S**t. Minor consolations and all that.

Horrible club, horrible fans. Since when have they developed this sense of self entitlement they have?

It says a lot about the state of this country when it seems half of the population cannot spell a six letter word like forest.

A Few more Comments.........
hate sky and can’t stand their obvious biases, they willed NF on all game.
Forest have barely met each other and still got the points.
Probably predictably Forest came out strong, but withered quite quickly. At the first water break they were still the better team on balance of play, but we had already worked out their threat, but had resorted to long, deep crosses that were being very ineffective - the Forest defence got away with murder defending them and corners
Forget 90 minutes, that game could have lasted 90 weeks and we still wouldnt have scored
Forest so lucky though and on another day some of those off the post go in and the penalty is a better one..
We don’t look good defensively at all- something we were good at last year. Wonder if that’s down to pearce’s departure..
Credit to Forest, Henderson in goal pulled off plenty of good saves, Neco Williams for his attacking and crossing and Brennan Johnson stood out to me.
We don't look ready and up for a long PL season.
A lot of huff and puff against a poor Forest team.
A Forest team who were bang up for their first PL game in 20+ years
This was always going to be difficult.
Their defence was better than ours. On paper and on the pitch. If that doesn’t focus the mind on what we need to do before the window closes nothing will.
Sorry, Forrest where there for the taking, we were dog **** today. You reap what you sow
rather than it being the other teams use if the dark arts , this was down to our own stupidity and the ref.
a tad worried that Benny might have been giving Forest a 'come and get me' performance! Especially if he knows Moyes doesn't have faith in him.
Going toe to toe and losing to a very poor, newly promoted side, is not a good look for the season ahead.
Let’s be honest it was never going to be a walk in the park. A forest side on the up, newly promoted, new signings wanting to make their mark, last years squad fighting for the place and wanting to cement places. A bouncing ground. Oppressively hot conditions et. etc
defeat to a scuffed shot, a missed pen, dubious refereeing and some poor luck. Yep. Execute the lot of em
FWIW, we are not the first team to look a bit shell-shocked against a rampant new team on their first home game since promotion
This isn't ice hockey, Antonio cleaned the forest player out with arms in front of him, it was a clear foul.
Forest didn't offer too much except they looked lively and mobile, particularly up front. We had Antonio, who didn't look either.
I kept seeing cut away pictures of Forest's Jabba owner mumbling and crossing himself in the stands. The luck they had today made me wonder if he was using some voodoo spells on their goal or remote controlling the ref. Who was that ref anyway? He was so cr*p I was almost wishing for Mike Dean to come back out of retirement.
Today we lost to a side that will be going straight back down to The Championship
Antonio’s temper tantrums ultimately led to the disallowance. Until a couple of years ago it wouldn’t have been questioned. But his frustrations combined with VAR meant a cheap shove will always offer the opportunity to Shockley Park to find a fault. Particularly one that looks worse in slow motion and from a certain angle
A 2-0 loss to the bazillionaire favourites for the title and a 1-0 away at a newly promoted team’s big jamboree (with numerous unlucky near-misses), whilst disappointing, are really not worthy of some of the self-flagellation and calls for the manager’s head that I’m reading on here.
Forest, great to see them up, but they will struggle, they got very lucky today but if they finish 4th from bottom you won’t hear me complaint, proper club with proper fans
they were not great. The number 9 did look strong and made good runs, Lingard didn't particularly pull up any trees and apart from trying to get the ball in the box early from Williams they didn't really have any incisive play and I wasn't particularly impressed with them defensively
Forest were good, but to be honest rode their luck a bit. I think a draw would have been about right
Make no mistake, that was 3 points dropped today. From what I saw, Forest will do well to stay up.
After watching that I think Forest will have a very long season ,most other clubs will not be as generous as we were today and to be quite honest they could only beat us by a fluke goal .
I can see them getting quite a few good hidings and it was good to see how **** Lingard was.
Whichever way you slice it... We've made winning the title extremely hard
Cooper makes Dowie look like Brad Pitt.
He does look like Harry Redknapp and Iain Dowies lovechild. Good manager nonetheless.
Forest were no great shakes, but fair play to their fans: they turned up, and good luck to them, but they shouldn't be deceived by the result. They are bottom 6 material.
What worries me is every few seasons we fight relegation or have a bad season its happened in the pass I think this season could be it
I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but as Rice was lining up his spot kick, Lingard was indicating to Henderson where he was going to put it. And he was spot on.
Despite their win I believe Forest will struggle this season. They were dreadful last week and very fortunate today. They won't survive defending like that.
Finally, that was the hottest I've been at a football match since the opening day of the 87/88 season when we beat Portsmouth 2-1 at Fratton Park and everyone in the away end (an open terrace) came home with a sun tan. It didn't help being sat in the second row in the full glare of the sun!
Man I don't like Jesse Lingard, he's stitched us right up this summer and then told Henderson which way to dive as well, as well as diving to get Rice booked.
Antonio 7/10????
It was his stupidity that got the goal ruled out… he was throwing a tantrum for not getting free kicks and run into the defender on purpose
Go straight out and put money on Forest going down. They’ve used up half a season’s luck and will struggle for points when the euphoria dies down.
That said, credit to them today. They made a racket, their team kept going under pressure and the supporters I met were all good natured.
Lots of hard work from Forest, which I like, but little quality. I appreciated that when they lost the ball, they fought for it. One player ran half the pitch to win it back.
Nice to see a proper ground as well
If Forest can pick up these kind of points before they get their first team settled and gelled, that will be the difference for them
I thought they gave us some problems when attacking but a lot of teams are going to hit them for 2 or 3 goals should they continue to defend like they did today. Perhaps more cohesion will come when their team gels properly.
The football gods shone down on Forest today. Cooper is a lucky manager but they’ll go down I think
Forest did really well - esp. first 25 minutes or so. MOTM for me was one of three - Henderson in goal, (Nico?) Williams, or the crossbar. The first two played great and stood out from the crowd. Good luck to them both. The third was a bit static and stoic for me but what do I know. Forest came out of the blocks raring to go and had us looking like mugs for the first 25 minutes or so - no-one but us to blame for that.
Couldn't care less about who 'deserved' to win - bottom line is despite the crossbar, goal line clearances or what colour undies your grandma was wearing we came away with zilch. Next time out we need to recognise when the ref gives that big long peeep at the start of the match, that's when we have to start playing.
Funny old game, we could still be playing now and not score - Ball did not bounce kindly for us ye

That is a disappointing set of comments but I wouldn't expect anything different coming from them.

Wow. After the match on Twitter I saw West Ham fans saying things along the lines of, "know your place" and "stay in your lane".
And I think that sums why the established clubs' fans that have turned on us.
Since we starting spending the mood has changed from the slightly patronising, "Ah, it's great Forest are back, brilliant to see a proper team back in the Prem" to "Who do they think they are?", "Such an arrogant set of supporters" and "I can't wait for them to go back where they belong."
Some fans seem to genuinely hate us suddenly.
Of course, the signings have been necessities and Marinakis wants us to be more than just a team that stays up, but our summer has rocked the boat and challenged the hallowed Premier League status quo. And they don't like it.
We're a threat to the established teams and they didn't see it coming. It's easy for opposition fans and some of the press to label this summer as "doing a Fulham". But if what we've done works and other promoted teams try to replicate what we've done I think it represents a shift in things and that's a threat to other teams, their position and their money.
I think it will work and that means someone else has to be relegated.
But "know your place" and "stay in your lane" wound me up and I can't wait for the season ahead and us upsetting a lot more opposition fans.

With the excessive TV money I don't even feel like it's a particularly big gamble, to the point where I don't really understand why all newly promoted teams aren't doing this. Massive increase in revenue and excess capital. It makes sense to try and sign lots of young anchor players to set up the squad for the future, which is what we've done. Plus, it's not too dissimilar to the championship in that the prize for success is another 100m+ TV money if we stay up.
Maybe we've pushed it slightly but certainly not an unreasonable amount. Perhaps we're in a unique position in that we didn't have many players left from the previous season that we had under contract/were regulars so there was room for a massive rebuild of the squad. I do remember pre-season discussing our chances and telling people we'd be spending 100m+ easily and signing lots of players. It seems that the Lingard signing broke us into the conscious of other fans as this was clearly a coup.

If we do manage to stay up this season I reckon we've created a new model that other none parachute clubs might follow, namely loan half a team of prem players while in the championship, get promoted and then with a clean slate squad wise throw the entire premier league income at signing quality. Of course, you need a good coach but its definately a way to do it and to compete with clubs with bigger budgets in the Championship. Because you've got the half full squad when you get promoted you then have freedom to go out and build a squad, without having to worry about getting players out first. And of course you dont have high earners clogging up the budget, like the other prem clubs (like Everton) have.

You should see what some Olympiacos fans are saying a lot of them are not very happy to put it very politely.
PAOK fans have started calling them the Nottingham B team.
