I could be wrong,  but I'm very confident in Colback in particular starting.

I will disagree with you there Zico. I don't think Cook will start personally.

The new guy has looked impressive, just think Cook is the most natural at middle if 3, plus even when he doesn't appear to do alot out of the ordinary himself, the defence generally looks more secure when he's on the pitch as he reads the game well. Great problem to have though.

Colback I'm very confident will start though.Looks sharp, fit and combative. And new midfield signings will need time to get up to speed.

Id love Colback to play and have a decent game against Newcastle. Their fan base absolutely rubbished him when he was there.

So Cook ahead of Niakhate then?

Not sure about that. 3 from 4 though isn't it.

None of last seasons back 3 will be resting on their laurels that's for sure. Keeping Figs out of the side wasn't difficult, but keeping the 4th person out when all are fit will require quality performances and consistency.

Whilst defence looks very healthy and scoring goals is our possible worry wouldn't it be typical if Forest drew 3-3 or something daft in first game.....

Was that partly the ex Sunderland thing kicking in. Steve Bruce spoke well of him-then bombed him out of 25 man squad.

So based on the Valencia game, you'd expect that team to be the same as the one against Newcastle (unless Yates is fit perhaps). Maybe Mangala over O'Brien perhaps?

Interesting that he prefers Cook over Niakhate to start the season, if true, deserved on Cook's part. Our defensive three was pretty elite after he arrived. Whilst I'm sure Niakhate will get in at some point, I'm personally happy to see another of our players that got us here keep his place.

Don't think Yates is fit I believe he will miss our first couple of games.

Thats a blow. I wonder if he pushed himself to hard to recover in time?

I think he slightly aggravated his knee vs. Notts.

Can see O'Brien and Colback with Mangala making debut off the bench.

Other than that, i've a sneaking suspicion that Taylor may get a start over Awoniyi.
