Speaking of unhappy fans, I was at the cricket yesterday (first day of rain in a month, typical) and there were a few Hudds fans behind me. They found out I was a Forest fan and I was getting some right abuse. Apparently we're not very popular with them!

I tried to explain to them that Jon Moss was great and that Samba would've saved the penalties anyway but surprisingly that didn't placate them. Something about signing their best two players or something...

Not sure this is quite the right spot, but just been reading that some German fans reported WBA fans for singing 10 German Bombers. They described it as a hate crime.

Now I'm no snowflake but would not join in with that song in this day and age, I like visiting Germany and have received nothing but fantastic hospitality. But is it a hate crime?

If so, then the way I feel about those t@$$ers up the M1 with their moronic "scabs" abuse should be considered in a similar way. It really gets under my skin for so many reasons.

A-My Grandad was killed down Bilsthorpe Pit, saving a young apprentices life.He moved down from Durham as Yorkshire Miners would not let NE Miners work in Yorkshire Pits.

B-The history goes back long before 1980s, whatever people's political persuasion, Scargill was a serious militant. He actually could have had a score draw 6 months in, but chose to keep going, giving Thatcher a resounding win and carte blanch to do as she pleased to workers.

C-Its actually a fascinating subject to read about all these years later and for those that were involved (on either side in Notts) I have total respect for them standing up for their principles. Whether it be to go out in support or to stand up to Scargill and his tactics.

So is it on a par with references about a war that ended almost 80 years ago? Probably not, but it proper gets under my skin coming from some scummy teenagers who don't have a clue....as SY police stand by and do nothing.

Dunno if anyone watched the recent BBC drama 'Sherwood' or not. It was based in a Nottinghamshire village and talked a lot about the Miners' Strike, the aftermath and the continuing division in communities even to this day.

There was a really good bit of dialogue in the last episode from one of the characters basically saying that people need to move on now - whatever side of the divide they were on. Fans of certain Yorkshire-based clubs could do with heeding those words - particularly those who weren't even born when it happened.

Sherwood was quite a good yarn  but I feel stirred things up a  bit. It was based very very loosely on murders from 10 or more years ago. 

Those Yorkshire folk you refer too, will probably have refilled their hate tanks a bit. Dirtyleeds are after all just Sheff U on steroids.... Its one of the only grounds Forest fans will need to watch their backs-assuming you can get a ticket.....

Their weird corner routine was hilariously bad.

We bossed that yesterday, from start to finish, and I can't remember the last home game like that. In complete control, just had to wait for the first goal and there was no way we weren't winning that once we got it. Great day, great performance, great result. Start of something special methinks.

Dominant from the first whistle till last.

They fluffed a couple of opportunities but not to the extent motd made it seem.

I like forest but they never looked like worrying us tbh. They'll grow into this division and their new recruits will start to gel with a few more games. Good luck to them.

I think at times a defeat like that for newly promoted teams can help out. Brings them back down to earth a little and can focus them better. Remember it happening to us when Keegan first brought us up and we were full of hope and excitement, then Spurs beat us 1-0. Was the reality check we needed to knuckle down and push on.

Don’t blame them too much for being optimistic, it’s incredibly exciting being back in the PL after 23 years. I do blame that fan for thinking o’brien was on par with one of the top 5 midfielders in the league, in Bruno.

A few on their forum recognised that MOTD made it seem way more balanced. But I guess MOTD only have a certain amount of time and wanted to show NF fans at least some positives.

It's strange how different people see a game. Looking at their forum and the majority of them think Colback had a good game. I thought his was an echo of his time here, nothing on the ball and constantly chasing after his man and not really getting near.

I know it's only 1 game but I fear a long hard season for them.

I think Colback had a 'good' game solely because he was actually on the ball at times, unlike a lot of their other players, same with O'Brien. But the pair of them were about as outplayed as it's possible to be.

Forest look like they could do massively with an energetic DM.

Reading the Forest forum, they are a bit shell shocked at how bad they were and how good we are now. I think it just shows how big the gap to the premier league actually is.

You could argue that Forest got promoted a season too early, when Cooper came in they where rock bottom after 8 games without a win. He then picked up a few wins as he's a very competent manager, and tactically switched on, them wins then boosted confidence and they just rode that wave all the way to the Play-Offs and promotion.

The end result being that a squad of mid-table championship players got promoted who where no-where near good enough for the transition across, and half there players contracts where up, or on loan, so at that point you have to decide if you stick or twist with the same set. They decided the latter and it's going to be a harsh couple of weeks for them while the bed in. Hopefully they do as a club like Forest deserve to be in the Premier League, certainly more so then teams like Norwich.

I think they'll do alright once they adjust a bit. We we're probably the worst place to come to at the minute (outside of the obvious; Anfield, Etihad, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium).

A team who are not going to be particularly great on the ball at this level (yet anyway) and used to playing out from the back, are going to be like a deer in the headlights against relentless off the ball pressure. They made a load of unforced errors too.
Think the plan was probably for them to play a 3-4-3 and be in the game more but they dropped to 5 at the back pretty quickly. Steve Cooper seems a good, modern manager, I think he'll learn quick.

Start to finish we dominated them.

Just seen the 30 minute highlights on Sky. Everyone looked fit, confident and keen. Willock and Almiron seemed to have upped their games. The intensity of our play seemed to rattle Forest.
Lingard looked like a player who'd only joined for the money, which of course is not surprising. It was down to him to close down Schar for the goal, but he made a very half-hearted attempt before giving up.

Thought they’d be a lot better tactically given how much the gargoyle is rated and how well he’s done in his career to date. Seemed like they were happy to chance keep getting battered and that we’d not score rather than doing anything to proactive about it. They were absolutely wide open in midfield in the first 60 odd mins of the game. Dunno whether they’ve bought one but they really looked like they missed a proper DM who could break the game up.

Forest fans forgetting that newly Promoted teams pick up most of their points in the first 5 or so games whilst still pumped with success. They look and play like a bottom 3 club.

I saw they had 7 debutants today? That lack of synergy combined with trying to play out from the back was rough for them. I'm sure they'll be a different beast at home when they have time to gel.

They were f*****g shit.
If we had attacking reinforcements, or had positioned ourselves better in the box, they would have been left behind in the 1st half alone.
I know they have bought a new squad and it will take time for them to gel, but if they play like that then they will get well and truly spanked week in week out, and will compete against Derby’s last go in the top flight.

We won't have an easier game all season imo no disrespect but it didn't even seem like they tried. We had them locked down with the speed we were winning the ball back.

Today was a massive lesson to Forest, who seemed to lack absolutely everything. Maybe it'll click with the newer players in time, but after the other two promoted sides got decent results today they're already up against it.
