What by £125m?
That makes him on 600k a week at villa by your reckoning.
I’m being facetious, of course, but I’m still waiting for you to tell me how you know for a fact villa can pay more than forest and how for a fact forest cant compete with most premier clubs other than those with an oil related benefactor (a presumption I’ll grant you).
In plain English I make two points:
Don’t think forest can’t compete financially now BUT also
Don’t assume we will pay the stupid money being touted (initially) by some clubs.
I don't understand what you are saying. Above you ask me how I know for a fact that Forest can't compete financially with Villa and then you say you don't think Forest can compete with Villa. What are you disputing? Being facetious with the numbers does not help either.
There is nothing plain about your English.
Please re-read my post. I said ‘don’t think we can’t compete’… not ‘I don’t think we can compete’.
You said we can’t afford high wages
I said tell me how you know that for sure (because my understanding is we have a budget at least as big as most, apart from the obvious oil-backed clubs like city and Newcastle).
I grant that we won’t be paying inflated prices for players. I used coutinho as a yardstick for spence’s alleged inflated asking price. You said the coutinho transfer fee was only that price because of his high wages (which we couldn’t afford).
So, I repeat my single question- please tell me how you know we aren’t competitive on salaries?
Forest won't be paying 125k per week first season back in the premier.
I don’t necessarily disagree.
But I’ll ask again- how do you KNOW how much we will pay?

No problem….Might as well anyway.
Some people can’t answer a straight question or admit when they don’t know.
Makes debating difficult.

Do you think we may ‘upgrade’ sponsors for shirts etc come the start of the season or will we stay loyal?

Unlike in the past we seem to have a full backroom team now
Commercial
Chief Operations Officer – John Taylor
Head of Partnerships - Tom Peacock
Commercial Sales Manager - Simon Fotheringham
This is their job and responsibility to maximise revenue that we get in the PL. Would expect activity to increase rapidly. I would hope any contracts in place have a clause that they are renegotiated on promotion.

As long as they don't get betting companies sponsoring them again, I'll be happy.

Does anyone know the full details of the premier league P&S rules? The only thing I can see is that you can't lose more than 105m over 3 seasons.
However, I was sure they put something in to stop teams increasing their wage bill by a certain amount each year eg City style.

This thread seems so off the mark now.
Have we got carried away behind the scenes?
Actually who cares, I'm getting carried away after this weeks signings.
